Newcomer / Intro Why the srv vehicle won't shoot?

I have just previously decked out my Type 9 Heavy ship for an engineering build. The first planet I come to, I land, deploy the SRV and dismiss the ship. I have full ammo on the SRV. I have set the weapon groups to where I want them. However, when I go to use the turret or fire it will not let me. full pips into weapons as well. What am I missing? What do I do?
Any suggestions or direction would very much helpful...

As the scarab (driving) specific keybinds have already been ruled out, as were switched off modules or fire groups, I would suspect that maybe you're aiming too low? The gun will stop shooting when you're about to hit your scarab.
 
check your right hand panel and make sure that your weapons are alloted to a trigger,mine have mysteriously disappeared before now...usually theres an empty whisky bottle and discarded food wrappings. i've put these in the foyer in Odyssey now though.

Oh and what Donaldi said too. Backto whisky.
 
BTW, do you have energy in the weapons capacitor? If not, arrow down to redistribute the energy evenly between shields, engines and weapons...

The last time we got that complaint (only a few days ago), it was the trigger bindings. Keep in mind that the SRV uses (can use) different bindings form the main ship for everything - and that includes the triggers.

And, to add, you'll have another one to add in Odyssey. There's a whole lot of "on foot" binding fun to be had. At this rate, my binds file is going to need an SSD all of its own...
 
When this has happened to me it has been because the mode switch binding was not "K", as the message kept saying it was. So I could never switch to combat mode.
