Why we need Aoudad/Barbary Sheep

Not necessarily. We typically have at least 2 of everything in the game, some cases have 3...

So, just because we have the Dall sheep doesn't mean we won't get a 2nd sheep; in fact, I bet that if we were to get a 2nd, hotter climate species (like the mouflon or bighorn sheep), then the Dall sheep would only be better since that's our cold climate equivalent

I think if we were to get a second sheep it wouldn't be another Northern American one though. If we did get another caprine from the continent it'd probably be the musk ox.

I often find it amusing that we discuss potential animals with the assumption that Animal X means we won't get Animal Y. Since both X and Y are purely hypothetical, they have the exact same likelihood of being included. Wanting the aoudad does not, for example, mean that the markhor or takin as less chance of making it in. This is also because the "expiry date" of the game is also purely hypothetical.

This point is especially important considering that dlc gave us two gibbons and, of all things, two caimans. The demand for the second species doesn't even have to be that strong (see caiman numero two), though it does seem to help. It's entirely possible to get all three out of the Takin, Markhor and Aoudad, though I wouldn't count on it still.
