Do some really subscribe to the odd notion that playing a video game requires bravery or instils fear?
Don't tell the devs of horror games, you'll put them out of business.

Indeed. Noting that this game is not a horror game.Don't tell the devs of horror games, you'll put them out of business.
Watching the second deep dive FD certainly want that to be more of a thing.
IIRC (I may be wrong mind!) there was a loose line regards rebuy costs being lowered or removed- if thats the case then its a step to making V2 much more of a 'nothing to lose' mode you can take part in.

On the wrong pitch, apparently.don't move the goalpost, I already kicked!

... in a different game genre, many of which are single player. No I was just in Open.
Apologies then, it would have been better to have been more specific regarding which video game was being discussed in a forum specific to this video game to avoid unnecessary excursions into whataboutism.
And war is a last resort. And not normally relevant to Powerplay. Its not the Empire singular though. Its powerful figures within the Empire wanting to be more powerful- hence why you have a Galactic Standing for those figures and why they are different in how they conquer / control.
How is shipping holds full of propaganda leaflets "direct confrontation"?The issue is ED allows you to all play by different rules, which is fine in the BGS way of doing things where you are a drifter, but bad in a direct confrontation such as Powerplay.
What are you apologizing for I'm not offendedApologies then, it would have been better to have been more specific regarding which video game was being discussed in a forum specific to this video game to avoid unnecessary excursions into whataboutism.
Then the question stands: Do some really subscribe to the odd notion that playingWhat are you apologizing for I'm not offendedI was talking about Elite, the joke was about Elite. sorry!
I'm honestly surprised its not 'a thing' to be honest already. If it were it would make V2 CQC in the main game where powers foot the bill.Removing loss on destruction would change things quite a bit.
In V1 all powers UM via combat. In V2 you certainly have more options, but the most direct way (if I understand what was said in the FU #3 DD) is to go in and wreck systems and FD themselves list killing other commanders as a directive. And war is a last resort. And not normally relevant to Powerplay.
This isn't controversial!
Because someone will want to stop you polluting citizens minds with unclean ideas. How is shipping holds full of propaganda leaflets "direct confrontation"?
If loss is not an issue materially then I can see that being an unblocker for some.Funny solution when rebuys are already pennies tbh. If people can't stomach a dozen mil for a krait loss, I don't think removing that will bring them into PvP honestly. It's just loss aversion in general keeping most people out of PvP. This is seen played out in other games as well, time and time again.
I'd debate that. Some of the Thargoid stuff can be quite scary, particularly the soundscape, which has always been the best top notch part of this game.Indeed. Noting that this game is not a horror game.
Agreed. The first time I explored a spire site solo with headphones on, it gave me the absolute creeps to the point where my skin was crawling afterwards.I'd debate that. We haul violence! YARRR!!!Powerplay is certainly not all about violence. A lot of it is about trucking.

Further apologies required - for the lack of inclusion of context in relation to "fear", i.e. the claim was that players are afraid of PvP.Agreed. The first time I explored a spire site solo with headphones on, it gave me the absolute creeps to the point where my skin was crawling afterwards.
