Here's something I've been working on over the past few months. It's a small zoo dedicated to the Americas, based in Cumbria, England. It features a large tropical house and several outdoor enclosures.

I built this zoo completely to my own imagination, so it isn't based on or inspired by anything specific in real-life. I guess its closest equivalents in real-life would be Amazon World Zoo Park and the Amazona Zoo. I wanted to keep things small and simple so I could pack as much detail into it as possible and not spend too much time on it.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy it!

Part 1: The Entrance

I tried to make it look as though the zoo was in the middle of the countryside:

A closer look at the main building. The entrance is the middle part, the cafe is on the right and the tropical house is on the left:

Thank you so much for the comments and likes.

Part 2: The Swamp House

We'll begin our tour of the tropical house with the swamp house which is home to the zoo's three species of crocodilian and some smaller animals:

I wanted to highlight some plants with this tropical house, so here's an exhibit for Amazonian giant water lily:

Part 3: The Jungle House

I didn't know what to call this next part of the tropical house but I'm going to go with jungle house for now. It's home to more reptiles and amphibians, as well as some capuchin monkeys:

X9mAap3.png

Immediate view upon entry - I tried to make the capuchin enclosure partly visible through the vegetation as a teaser for what's to come:

This house also features a small water feature - it's situated in front of the tropical house's tallest tree, a tamarind:

The Columbian white-faced capuchin monkey enclosure - it features a slightly raised floor so that the monkeys aren't so low down compared to the visitors line of sight:

Moving on, the path bends around the tortoise enclosure towards more exhibits:

That wraps up this update. As always, I'd love to hear your feedback!

I also join in the compliments about this zoo from the bottom of my heart! Just special!! I really liked the amount of dense vegetation you put, it really gives the atmosphere of a rainforest! When you finish showing the whole zoo, I would be very happy if you upload it to the workshop so I can look at it closely.

Thank you for the comments and likes!

Part 4: The Desert House

Immediate view upon entry:

There's more plant exhibits here than in any other house - this one's for barrel cactus:

In our final update, we'll take a look at the jaguars and North American beavers.

Thank you so much for the likes! Here's our final update.

Part 7: The North American Beaver and Jaguar Enclosures

This is the beaver enclosure, home to 1.1 North American beavers, quite a rarity in the UK:

This side of the enclosure lets you view their pond:

Our final enclosure belongs to a breeding pair of jaguars:

Vf9smgM.png

Just like in real-life, I built two separate enclosures so that the pair could be separated if needed:

xiJZhO7.png

The first enclosure features a pool with an underwater viewing area - If it was a real zoo, it would be one of only two with this feature in the UK, the other being Paradise Wildlife Park:

Thank you for joining me on this tour of my zoo, I hope you all enjoyed it.

I'm going to keep this project open in case any more suitable animals get released as DLC.

As ever, I'd love to hear any feedback!

Any plan to upload this to the workshop I’d kill to look around it
(sorry! realized I commented twice!)
