Will PS4 get the Cobra Mk IV?

Define "better" please?

I don't consider myself a new PS4 player, and would like a MK4: It's got more slots than an Aspx; small, so you don't get blocked at outposts, and can land on rough planets easier; good dps for a small ship; great convergence; low rebuy.
Arguably "better" than other ships in many aspects ;)

Perhaps I should have said bigger? ;) I figured many PS4 players will have a Python, Anaconda or similar by now. (Although I don't; I'm saving up for an Orca. :D)

Sure, it's a nice ship & cheap enough, but it's not really any better than a Cobra Mk III, which is quicker, more agile & has a better jump range. And, yes, it does have 1 more slot than an Asp X, but that's 2x4 compared to the Asp X's 5+6, so it can't get close to that jump range.

I hear what you're saying, I wanted one, too, but posts earlier in this thread convinced me that the Cobra III was a better bet, which I used till I bought a DBX, then latterly an Asp X. I've kept the Cobra Mk III though, for nostalgia.

Unless they bring it back and offer it up like they did the first in a promotion of some kind, it ain't gonna happen. That promo ended and so did the offer thus your barking up the wrong tree, stop kicking a dead horse. It realy messes up your shoes. LOL

It'd be nice to have extra ship selection and set up options regardless of the stage of the game we all currently are at.
Eventually i plan to test every ship in the game, just to see how they all feel and how different they are (when i hopefully have more money than i can spend in it, but at the moment, i'm only buying the ships i need right now, but it would have been nice to have had the Cobra iv as another option before i had millions to spend on ships) :) .

Also since the Cobra mark iv clearly exists in the game's files (i've seen npcs flying them while playing on PS4), there's no real reason for Frontier not to let us have them, other than for "political" reasons... :) .
(Not to P off the PC players who got it for owning the game in its' first year, but IF Xbox players have access to it and we don't, i can see zero reason for Frontier not to let us have it, particular those of us that either pre ordered this game or bought the "Commanders Edition", or whatever the complete version of this game was called - sure i only pre ordered it the night before it went on general sale, but a pre order's, a pre order... :) .)

I've been playing the game since (the PS4) launch and the biggest/most expensive ships i have are the Type 6, Dolphin, Diamondback Explorer and the Keelback.

I never sell my ships and i don't buy new ships 'til i've maxed out everything i can on my current ones.

I've only just about fully upgraded all my ships, i'm only just thinking of buying a Vulture (though the fact it only has two hardpoints, particularly when i like using missiles has me still pretty lukewarm about wanting the ship), it'll be a long time before i buy even the likes of the Federal Dropship, let alone anything bigger/ more expensive - it'll likely be a year or more before i'm ready to buy and use ships like the Anaconda or the Federal Corvette... :) .

(In addition to the aforementioned ships, my fleet also includes the starting Sidewinder, an Adder, Cobra mark iii (which i still use the most of all my ships) and a Viper mark IV.)

Yes, we do have ships that can play a similar role and are better at it, too, but it would indeed be nice. However, what would be nicer if we PS4 players had a ship just for us. It's not our fault we are late to the party & some of us have been playing Elite since the Beeb days.

*Crossing my fingers for a Cobra mark V, right now!* :) .

(Though i'd actually prefer a Keelback mark II, as i'm very disappointed with the current state of the regular ship... :) .)

I want the Cobra Mk I with a vector drawing paint scheme. The module slots would be so outdated compared to current tech that the modules you can buy at stations won't fit in the Cobra Mk I, so you have to fly it like it's 1984 again.

That would be some awesome.

But if you preordered and lived in America, you got a free gold paint job for your winder and some really neat decals. The pc and xbox didn't get those.

That reminds me of the Argon Elite coming back to the X series in Terran Conflict as an M4+, when it'd been an M3 in some of the older X games :) .

I wonder would the Cobra Mark 1 be a match for a Sidewinder, Eagle or the new lowest class ship in the game, perhaps a new starter ship?... :) .

Ah yes, the Krait; the classic pirate ship. As discussed many moons ago on here: https://forums.frontier.co.uk/showthread.php/60397-We-Want-The-Krait! There's even concept art for it - http://elite-dangerous.wikia.com/wiki/Krait

Another classic starter ship might be the Mamba, which also has concept art. So maybe these two could make it in to the game in the future.

In fact, that's one thing I've not seen, which surprises me. Why are there no pirate swarms of Kraits like in the original? Or maybe there are, but they only attack large freighters?

Personally, I'd like a Moray Star Boat as my starter ship.

I asked Lloyd at the Expo too and they were still aware of our desire for it. :)

Considering the bugs we've suffered through with since 2.4 dropped, I think we've earned a free Cobra IV. The "I don't have any bugs!" crowd can also have a free C4, since they've had to suffer the complaining of people like me :p
