will stop playing for a month

While that's not a bad suggestion on the face of it, the ongoing debacle with the very UNFINISHED Odyssey still sticks it's ugly beak into Horizons play.
Yesterday I finally got the Pacifier scattergun and had 3 hours of play planned, after getting the rest of my day done. I go to play and along comes the first of many update/patches at 5Gb. I have 4Mb ADSL, so that was my playtime gone. You can't play until the update is done and it took more than 3 hours.
I realise it isn't Frontier's fault that I live rural and have a slow connection but it IS Frontier's fault that they are wasting my time and a lot of other people's time by releasing a game that is glaringly NOT READY for release.
Then I got to thinking about the hours I've spent grinding to do things - like loading cargo onto my ship for the 4 week Powerplay pretence, to get a slightly different weapon.
And it occurred to me how Frontier do not respect or value players' time in the slightest. In fact, it seems they have confused gameplay with wasting our time and find it a whole lot easier to do the latter. Now they have introduced a whole new range of stuff that will all require upgrades and grinding grinding grinding, timewasting timewasting timewasting.

I'm taking a month (or 3 or 6) off too.
I won't miss hearing that my prospector limpet has failed or that my permission has been authorised.
I have to agree with everything you have said. My suggestion of playing in EDH, while not a flippant one, miss's the point that the game has effectively dried up and has a number of serious issues as a consequence of EDO.

Personally, I've played very little EDH over the last 6 months! My hopes that EDO would give me some exploration content soon evaporated when seeing what the Alpha really was like... Frankly, it was insulting.

I'll continue to dip in and out of EDH for the next six months but my time with Elite has more or less run its course 🥺
