Not likely. We'll get to land on non-atmospheric worlds and worlds with a thin (tenuous) atmosphere. Earth-like worlds are likely years away from being implemented, as there's a lot of work that needs to be done in order to make them be a credible part of the Elite universe in terms of landing on and exploring on foot or in SRV.
Reported for having hope.
I very much doubt we will be able to land on earthlike planets.I surely do hope this is the plan, if not in Odyssey then sometime afterward. It would make those missions where you have to collect water so much easier. I can scoop up all the water I'll ever need on on one of those planets. Considering that they are clearly colonized with cities, it doesn't make sense for us to not be able to land there.
They have stated that there will be ‘tenuous’ atmospheres so earthlikes will have to wait.I surely do hope this is the plan, if not in Odyssey then sometime afterward. There is a reason heresy and hope begin with the same letter.

When you quote this user @Wotthe ens the forum censors his name.Unless you are a cokney.
Had to spell it wrong to beat the stupid filter
Though i agree with you they probably wont be landable, i just thought i should point out for the sake of argument that I've seen an earth-like with an atmosphere that was something like 0.3 atmospheres at least once. It will be interesting to find out exactly what fdev means by their vague description of tenous....Not likely. We'll get to land on non-atmospheric worlds and worlds with a thin (tenuous) atmosphere. Well, one big difference between the bodies in Star Citizen and Elite Dangerous is all the ones in SC have been hand crafted and therefore are very detailed but there aren't very many of them. In ED the bodies have been procedurally generated and we have the entire Milky Way (400 Billion Systems). FD will have to decide if they're going to create programs to procedurally generate cities and if they do are they going to look good? (perhaps not) Are they going to all look pretty much the same? (perhaps) Are people on here going to be happy with that? (perhaps not)I think we would be landing on them already if not for the presence of cities, meaning they would have to actually model the cities as well. I'm not sure what you would be doing in such cities to make traveling to them even worth it. I guess there would be some passenger missions that could be done. Maybe there are some politicians or foreign diplomats you take from one earth like planet or city to the next. Or, maybe there is a wanted criminal or pirate that lives in the city you have to bring in dead or alive. You would raid his facility or apartment or something. Bringing him in alive could open up follow on missions to hunt down the rest of his gang. There could also be some contract missions where you have to transport military grade weapons and equipment to another military base or something. But, we surely don't want this game trying to be everything and failing miserably like Star Citizen is trying to be right now.
