Windows 10 crashes while playing Games

I've installed Windows 10 and found out that while trying to play most Games, the Computer crashes. It seems to be a Problem with the OS. It didn't help to completely re-install it. The Drivers are all the newest Versions and it worked perfectly on the old Hard Drive. I've only changed the Hard Drive to a new SSD and replaced a Cable with a completely new one. I've also made some Tests with Ultimate Boot CD and some other Software and no Hardware Problems where found. 2 Games work without any Problems (Little Witch Nobeta and Heroes of Might and Magic 3 HD Edition if that somehow helps to find out what could be wrong). The installed Version of Windows 10 is Windows 10 Pro 64 bit. I've also tested if the Hardware fulfills the Requirements for Windows 10 (even though such Tests shouldn't be necessary because Windows 10 was also on the original Hard Drive of that PC) and everything should be fine. The Games of which I know that they cause Windows 10 to freeze are Planet Zoo, Jurassic World Evolution and Fallout 4. Is there something in the Options of the System that can cause this Problem or is there some Software that can tell me what causes the Problem?
I really hope that someone is able to help because I'm already trying to solve it since multiple Days

Open up your eventviewer and check under system what kind or warnings and errors you get

I think disabling the game bar and gaming mode might help.
What exactly is this and how do I find it. I don't know much about Windows 10 because I'm only using it again since I have the new SSD because the official Windows 7 Support ended

Click the 'window' icon bottom left of your screen, and then the 'cogwheel (= settings).
Then click 'Gaming' (at least on my PCs on the right side of the window) and you'll first see Xbox game bar (IIRC it is enabled by default).
On the left side there's a menu item for game mode too, similarly enabled as default.

I hope my PC will start later. I think all the Crashes damaged the Power Adapter (don't know if that's the correct English Word for it. At least Google Translate calls it that). I really hope it will work again normally after a few Hours so I can at least find out if the Tip helps and maybe take a Look again at Event viewer before I need to most likely wait for multiple Days (there is a Electronics Shop relatively close to my Home but they do have almost no Hardware for PCs so I'll most likely need to order the Part online)

It may very well been the PSU failing that caused those crashes. Hope no other component was damaged!

Ok, I've found a German Article on a Website about the Game Mode and it also describes that the Games either lagg or freeze. It also describes that AMD and Nvidia Graphic Cards especially do often have Problems with it. If I remember correctly the Graphics Card in my PC is one by AMD, so thanks even though I couldn't test it yet, it seems that you found the Solution for my Problem

I wouldn't think Game Bar will cause your whole PC to freeze although I've heard it can cause some performance issues with games. Are you getting a blue screen of death with a message or just the freeze? I think I'd be doing what @GroG79 said above and look at the system events in the event log to try and find out what's causing it.

It just freezes completely and according to the Article I've read about it, other People say also that it can cause the PC to freeze

Ok, well it's pretty simple to turn off and test. If it doesn't fix it give the event log a whirl.

If it is anything like my recent win 10 issues, its probably graphic drivers. Clean uninstall of drivers might help.

Ok, somehow adjusting the Energy Cable that is connected to the SSD helped even though I'm pretty sure that was one of the first Things I've tried after it didn't start again (a Eternity was needed to finally find a Cable that fits into the other Cable and that new Cable doesn't fit perfectly for some Reason even though it's supposed to fit)
Sadly turning the Game Mode off didn't help 😟
But at least it seems like it needed a little bit more Time to freeze

Starting to feel like a hardware problem.
Or some strange driver conflict.
Checking the previously mentioned event viewer could show where to look at.

Quick and easy way to see if your processor or graphics are overheating is to install GPU-Z, it's Sensors tab will show both temperatures and some additional info (especially about the GPU).
HWiNFO will show much more detailed info about your whole system.

Then there's always the RAM. For a quick test, MemTest64 will do, for thorough testing, MemTest86 is recommended.

I've planned to look at the Event Viewer but a Windows Update needed what felt like 10 Hours just to download even though it already was at 100%

I'll also use the Software you've recommended. Thanks a lot for trying to help

I assume the red CPB means that there is some kind of Error
Don't know - it might mean that the feature (Core Performance Boost) is not in use right now.
Unfortunately (well, fortunate for me, haven't needed to learn 🙃), I have no experience on how the HWiNFO reports errors. Maybe it is like Windows device listing and there's yellow or red exclamation mark beside an item that is faulty, don't know - paging @Morbad !
No harm in checking what all the items listed on the left will show though.

But some things are intuitive/obvious. Sensors tab/button would let you see different component temperatures as reported by their sensors. I presume it will show also some sort of graph of recent values. At least GPU-Z does.
You could try having the sensors tab visible and open any of the games that cause freezes in windowed mode, to see if there are heat issues. Or enable saving sensor readings to a log file and play for a while (in case the freeze happens before you can close the game and see sensor history of that period).
