So did I. Managed to get 600kB base memory free with mouse, sound and cdrom drivers loaded, 4dos 4thewin.But I enjoyed editing my autoexec.bat and config.sys files to do stuff like KEYBUK and putting items into HIMEM.
you think the problems with odyssey are due to the developers hitting technical limitations of the api they're using. That's cute.If done right, this could solve a lot of Odyssey performance issues. The main advantage of DX12 over DX11 is better CPU multithreading, and ED could use that. In ground settlements I get CPU bottlenecked, but have only around 50% load on the CPU, which has 8 cores and HT.
Cheater! So did I. Managed to get 600kB base memory free with mouse, sound and cdrom drivers loaded, 4dos 4thewin.
I'll bet a million dollars I don't have that in your closet, in the corner, just behind the untouched shaving cream, is a box full of 3.5 inch floppys. But I enjoyed editing my autoexec.bat and config.sys files to do stuff like KEYBUK and putting items into HIMEM.
Only valid use for a f3.5" drive these days, tbf...The Boot Disk would be like this:
No, actually the only valid use for a 3.5 floppy disk drive these days is to install Frontier: Elite II onto the hard disks of my various Amigas...Only valid use for a f3.5" drive these days, tbf...![]()
No, it means the game is doomed(tm) obviously.Does that mean we can move to Direct X 12?
It’s still Direct3D 11. A Direct3D 11 implementation using Vulkan, but the game still uses through the same D3D 11 code. So of course it won’t be any faster, in fact it’ll probably be slower as the overhead of two graphics APIs is greater than one.Linux already runs this game under vulkan
Again, still? No, it means the game is doomed(tm) obviously.
Supposedly happening daily even since before release. (If you do X the game is doooooooomed!")Again, still?
Oh no!
Anyway?Again, still?
Oh no!
Moving on!Anyway?
Well, 3.5" disks weren't really that floppy. 5 1/4's, now they flopped... but not as much as 8" ones. And they were positively rigid when compared to punched tape.I'll bet a million dollars I don't have that in your closet, in the corner, just behind the untouched shaving cream, is a box full of 3.5 inch floppys.
Complaining about people having fun on the forums - well done!Complaining about non-existent complaints. Well done, guys!
Well the good news is that people still running 7 are likely using an older CPU that can't even run 11 due to the TPM requirement.Seems like it's time to finally move to Windows 8.1. Or Win10 or 11 (which is [unfortunately] recommended).
