Wing mission failure/bug?

This is my first post on the forums so if this is in the wrong area i'm sorry, please tell me off!

I'm not sure if this is meant to have happened or a bug. Last night me and a wing of four other commanders were trying out the wing missions, it was going well, ish... Until one of our commanders crashed. *insert sad trumpet sound here*. When he rejoined he could no longer take part in the mission, he had done quite of work towards the mission before crashing. Weird... well maybe if we finish it he might still get a cut? Nope. Nothing. And we lost the cargo he had picked up so only managed a partial completion. Is this normal? Halp!

Crashing should be a very rare event. They are more likely to care about the cause of the crash than coding crash recovery for a mission.
