Wing missions and the BGS

Do we know how wing missions will affect the BGS? Will it be the same amount per mission than a regular one? Will it be more efficient to do one wing mission with your friends instead of stacking a bunch of missions by yourself? I would have asked during the stream but I couldn't watch it live :/

Any thoughts/idle speculation until the 25th on how these missions will affect the BGS?

I mean, some of them are going to be very large. Will they have a commensurate effect on the BGS?

The reward seems to be copied to each CMDR the mission is shared with, so for instance if you just do it yourself, you might only get +, with each additional CMDR adding their own reward's +. Conjecture of course, but it seems well founded.

It's a little hard to guess if the missions, done solo, will be scaled for their time to complete at all. Regular missions mostly are - e.g. sourcing missions providing ++ compared to delivery's +. Passenger missions though don't follow that format, instead according rep by the same measure, with less influence handed out for e.g. tourism round trips than for simple economy stops.

Knowing you could soloing wing missions and have the extra reward as more rep+inf. i see more impact from one cmdr.

At this point i suspect that wing missions will be a time inefficient activity compared to single player missions. Remains to be seen how its implemented.

Im far more interested in the potential for inf boosted rewards.

I was distracted through the live stream, but I did have a conversation afterwards where I heard a suggestion that you might be able to barter money for influence - as in take a lower payout for a higher influence gain.... or did I dream that?

Thats what Adam said, but the example mission had the same INF for all 3 options. You could vary cash reward, REP and Material reward only.

Then that really has my attention.... :)

Guess it will be normal operating procedure:
2 groups test it with different test criteria and get 2 different answers
1 group spouts horse hooey
We take the horse hooey as gospel for 3 months
Geomon does a proper documented test
FD change things
Everyone starts to follow Geomon's test results that are now out of date
Constant anecdotal, unverified disagreements

in line with old FD practice of BGS feature of the month being initially heavily op (mining missions I'm looking at you!) its quite possible that the inf only rewards and wing missions will be OP with a tweak in a minor point patch.

...

A quick note on influence boost rewards and wing missions, due to the nature of this reward and the impact on the BGS only the mission owner will be offered this reward type. All players will receive baseline influence increases, but only the owner of the mission can get the increased boosted amount.

....

So it appears the wing can have 4 active missions max, with one owner of each mission. There doesn't appear to be a specific limit to how many wing missions you can accept but only 1 can be active at any one time. (can a new one be activated before cashing a completed one?)

Only mission owner will get inf boost option, wingmates get only regular inf reward.

Seems worth dropping in here in case you guys missed it in Dangerous Discussion

Edit: Ninja'd :O

I too suspect that wing missions may not be that useful for BGS, as the inf level may have to be +++++++++++++ for it to be time effective compared to, say, bulk passenger missions.

However, bulk passenger missions (inf+++ currently) plus an inf bonus? Where do I sign up?

A rep bonus would really only matter for a short time/imp-fed ranking, and permit givers

YOu know we have a very strong suspicion that bulk passenger missions, though labelled +++ have the influence equivalent of a simple delivery missions and about 1/3rd of say a surface scan.

Even if so, the results when several CMDRs go Passenger hauling is very noticeable.

Concur, though we've found it more like half-effect. That is to say, a +++ passenger mission produces more than a + regular mission, but not more than ++.
We haven't tested in a while though.

It'd be nice if they just made +s consistent. Without leaving bulk passenger missions at +++ if fixed please, as they're ridiculously easy to stack and quick to do.
