While I approve of this, I think it sets a dangerous (pun intended) precedent for people to "request" in-game tributes for famous people who are no longer with us. Is there a starport named after Leonard Nimoy? Robin Williams? The crew of the Challenger Shuttle? You can't arbitrarily out of the blue add a starport in tribute to someone, as noble as the gesture may be, without risking upsetting some people for not adding a starport named after other famous people.

Yes there is a station named after Leonard Nimoy, there are plenty of stations to go around and there is nothing forcing FD to memorialise people in the game , just a nice touch.

A fix was put out for this where we manually adjusted people's progress to make sure they weren't at a disadvantage if this change affected them. It was deployed shortly after my reply... sorry I didn't update you on it sooner!

Awesome! Thanks for the update. So very glad I only have 50MCr to go for Elite and not 104MCr :)

I assume that's a behind the scenes adjustment with nothing visible in the UIs.

- Fix issue with starports being too far in deep space from their parent body

Is this a fix for a small number of starports, or are we going to be losing stations that take more than 5 minutes to get to?

I certainly hope not, I love the fact that some stations are just blisteringly distant.

Personally, I don't think you can have enough dead people's names tucked away in the game somewhere. The galaxy is big enough for it not to feel like we're being made to tour a graveyard, and it adds a bit of colour for very little cost. Perhaps the process could even be automated by fetching an RSS feed of Science Fiction Obituaries once every couple of months, and renaming a random PG station in the galaxy?

Oh, and while we're at it, when Ironman is implemented, can we have an automatically populated graveyard system, where the wrecks of dead Commanders' ships are located and a small holoprojector gives the details of their career?

Watch out on Pratchett Disc, there's an offer from a chap called Dibbler, apparently he's selling the station. The price is so good, he's cutting his own throat
