I'm using him on Exeter. Mon Dieu, is he as lucky as he is nuts...I have this captain on the Thunderer, I felt like that is the appropriately silly ship.![]()
Unfortunately, I watched some Jingles video's.
This guy can rip anyone apart for gameplay. It's the Brit SNCO effect. Depressing.
This past weekend was a good one for me. The special bonuses and my generous use of signals boosts gave me enough XP to move to tier XIII; the Benson. It appears the only step up with the Benson is better torpedo range; the trade off is a few less tubes.
Personally I prefer the range. I like my IJN destroyers a lot because of their torp range and concealment, but I'm on a mission with the USN destroyers.
Its been a lot of fun. I play random only right now and I've had a decent win rate the past several days. Lots of fun.
I like the Swedish ships. But, I suck as a DD captain. Most of the replays he is getting are a combination of very lucky RNG and unforeseen events. Sometimes a perfectly average player can pull off a game of very high damage and match impact.
I sort of like Jingles but to be honest since the latest drama farming by the YTers I quit watching them.
Have you tried the EU destroyers? They are great for torp gameplay.
Otherwise my go-to destroyer is the Vampire II, surely its torps are not strong, but otherwise it offers a very good package.
Other than IJN and USN, I don't have any other mid tier DDs. I didn't play for a couple of years prior to a few months ago and only have limited RL time to play so I focus on the lines I had way back then, primarily USN (for now). When I started playing WoWs the main lines were IJN and USN with several other ships spread out amongst other Axis and Allied navies which is why I don't have anything other than a few low tier German, Russian, British, etc. etc. ships.
I like the Swedish ships. But, I suck as a DD captain.
I would like to cast "Banished To Tier 1 Co-Op For a Year" on Jingles.
I spent too much time in the real airplane, so DCS isn't my idea of fun...EU DDs have mediocre concealment and the the torp alpha is weak. But they are quick, torps reload fast, have good enough guns to defend themselves and finally AA that actually works. T10 Halland is actually one of (if not outright) the best AA ships in game. Gameplay-wise your are relieved from overreliance of capping and smoke, that gameplay is getting T8+ exceedingly difficult as nowadays even BBs are getting radar.
If you are still at mid tier, these days it is easy to progress up to T6, so you might want to give it a spin. Plus low-tier gameplay is forgiving with the exception of T4 CV overflow.
But yeah, with casual timing progress in this game is glacial and not too rewarding.
I am also not the best with DDs. I can make Vampire II work because it is very similar to Huanghe/Perth cruisers at T6. Hell, actually the only gunboat I am both good with and enjoying too.
Having said that, recently I am spending more time suffering in DCS's F-16.![]()
Haha, good stuff. So you do not miss flying that thing? Wouldn't it be fun to flip the same switches, relive memories?I spent too much time in the real airplane, so DCS isn't my idea of fun...
I have been having fun running Cap in HMS Exeter. Ramming is just too much fun...
Don't miss it much. Besides, nowadays I want something with bathrooms..Haha, good stuff. So you do not miss flying that thing? Wouldn't it be fun to flip the same switches, relive memories?
I had such a garbage run in WOWS for the past months that I decided to uninstall for a while. Yesterday's loss streak of three games sealed it.
Finished the 7 Provicien grind, and went straight to uninstall.
Don't miss it much. Besides, nowadays I want something with bathrooms..
Didn't grind for the dockyard. Not grinding for Russian CV's. Seemingly, Cap is my end-game content.![]()
Nah, I juts had a long march of deteriorating winrate and way too predictable losses, and that final session sealed my plan to take a break. Too many lopsided matches when either my team would have won without me or when my team would lose regardless whatever I do. Possibly it is a bit of burnout from my end too... will be back sooner or later!I have not tried any of the new stuff so far except the UI changes (no dockyards stuff atm, etc.). I've been enjoying my battles so far.
I'll have 2 and 3 game losing streaks periodically, but if I can get a good win or two I'm satisfied. I only play 3-5 games a day and if I lose 2 of 3 (or heaven forbid a 3 loss streak), I'll quit for the day/night. I'm in it for the XP in the USN DD line so wins still get me some XP as long as I play well. I know I'll be burned out if I persevere to get a Gearing, but I'm going to try.
I play my Colorado, New Orleans, Fubuki, Mogami, and Helena to break up the monotony. I could buy an Amiga or Ibuki now, but I have to save money for future purchases.

I'm no hero. I'm a poodle.I guess one can get bored of anything, but flying IRL these things that are that can pull all those Gs and fly that fast... If it gives any comfort (probably not), you guys were my childhood superheroes. I still have my posters and even signatures I've collected from pilots on a 1991 airshow, first of its kind with U.S. warplanes after the iron curtain was lifted. I was 11 back then and I even sat in the cockpit of an F-16A.
I tried to play CVs on the principle that they are OP, but it was so boring I could not bring myself to get good with them.
I did the dockyard because it sort of gave purpose, various missions so that I played ships I have otherwise not played a long time, then I only finished to salvage the time sunk into the whole process.![]()
Quit it, that makes us average blokes what then?I'm no hero. I'm a poodle.
Smarter than me...Quit it, that makes us average blokes what then?![]()
