Would you be mad if FD implemented a ship's computer?

... with voice recognition, custom voice overs, and much, more more? I can see this type of computer doing amazing things that are not currently available in 3'rd party apps. It would seriously irk the VoiceAttack and HTC Voice Pack people though. But seriously, this is something that should have been in the game in the first place.

What do you think?

Should it have? Something like that would be nice, but it's far from essential. It certainly shouldn't be a top priority.

I'm all in for official content with customs voice over.

When i bought the voice pack from HCS i had to buy voice attack too, having everything integrated would be neat

I can see them doing it in collaboration with the 3rd parties, as long as it will work on lowest common denominator console of course

Sorry, I don't see the need, why Frontier should "reinvent the wheel".
VoiceAttack works perfectly. Not only for Elite, but all other things you want to do with your computer.
And really 15 bucks for it won't crush anyones bank-account. ;)

For me, it's more important, that the core gameplay will be improved, not to implement just another new and shiny feature.

Okay...one little thing I would like to have, but i don't want to caputre your thread. (InGame-VR-Keyboard) ;)

I wouldn't mind it, but only if I get to repeat the computer to relay information after taking severe damage from lobster headed aliens.

Would I be mad? No, but I'd be extremely surprised. There are plenty of features that 'should have been in the game' that aren't and we're left with a choice of using 3rd party apps or putting up with a lesser experience.

I use xbox 1 elite controler so I have all options at my fingertips plus extended sticks 4 exra presciion and special keybinds, like mouse imitated on the sticks so FA off is ez mode. Oh and ur idea iz gud

i wouldn't use it, and although it has some fans i don't think it would be a widely wanted feature. i'm too old to talk to machines, i prefer reading more than listening, and operate my ship myself.

then again imo frontier has wasted insane time and energy in several terminally dumb features, i can't get mad at frontier anymore, so for me you lot might very well have your wishes granted.

As others have suggested perhaps this is something that can be done in conjunction with 3rd parties.
I would certainly like to see the ability to more tightly couple voice commands and response to the game - I don't want to have to set up arbitrary key bindings for VoiceAttack to work and I'd like to see more responsiveness in feedback.
I don't see this happening any time soon though which is a shame.

Too old? I've been talking to machines since I left school. And I am on the far side of retirement.

For me (as a VoiceAttack user), it would be already enough if FDev finally caved in and provided a shortcut for docking requests. Gone would be the little tab-swapping dance that often enough goes wrong (if the tabs are not correctly reset to the 'navigation' panel).
What more would I want from an in-game voice recognition? As mentioned above: VA is a brilliant (and reasonably cheap) little program. Well worth your purchase. Live and let live, as my partner says. The creator deserves the money.

That idea has a great deal of potential.

And no I wouldn't be mad. I used an HCS voice pack for about a week. Got bored with it fairly quickly - no longer use it.
I do use VA and EDDI in conjunction with it because VA provides useful utility and EDDI provides useful information.

Combine those into a built in ship's module - winner.

Of course if done it should be an available module for purchase in the outfitting screen and not come stock with your typical ship - well maybe stock with the larger ships.

Everything that is nice should have been in the game since day 1. Just because. :) Anyway, more is better for me, and I dont really care if 'third party app people' get upset.

Definitely not a priority as for me : I'd rather have them focus 100% on the core game play ( what they are doing now ) for at least another season. AT LEAST.
