wow just wow !

ok I ll write it again
I simply wont play till this is fixed ! its not fun at all to loose every fight ! the money needed from each lost ship is far to much compared to the time it takes to get a new ship. I have a top of the line flight stick and super comp and consider myself above average player. there is no fun in this type of hardcore npc now I just started playing this game like a month ago. if you top end players are having fun with this its because you have to time and the money to do so . the rest of us are screwed to a extremely slow grind with little to no rewards. not going to be fun for you either once everybody leaves from frustration.

With respect, you're still taking baby steps after a month. The learning curve extends to the clouds and you're barely above the trees.
You will get better, it will get easier, and one day in the not too distant future you'll be able to chuckle at this thread.

There isn't anything broken that needs fixing. I honestly think you might benefit from taking a breather and maybe take some advice that h347h suggested and watch some combat tutorial videos. It was too easy to mass kill AI and maybe people got complacent. Myself and the majority seem to be having no issues whatsoever.

Thank you for blaming ME for changes made to npcs in the game because it obviously my fault things have changed since horizons. I should just be thankful for your skill maybe you could link some videos of your awesomeness. I must be one useless pilot not to be able to do what you do ohh great one! BTW could you list your statistic for the majority that are having no issues ? you work for fronitier? post those stats please luv to se them

this has nothing to do with my learning the game it has to do with changes made to the game. things I could do before I cant now and that's somehow my fault for not learning? I didn't make these changes and I have a right to a opinion on them.

I have noticed that some NPCs are harder and depending on what I've got they're a real "danger". I'm pretty happy with that. The last few times I've been to the CZ for the CG that's ending soon I've had to be really weary of some of the Fed Gunships and Assault ships (especially the FAS) in my courier. I think this is a good thing, but I guess I haven't had it as frequent and nasty as the OP. I've been pleasantly surprised that now a wing of NPCs (or sometimes a single one in a good ship with dangerous or above in ranking) can be a fight I'll have to run from and sometimes run quickly. I also can't just tank and boost and fire away when using SCBs anymore. All positives in my book ;)

Well then. Seems you are either just trolling or I can see now exactly what your problem is...

Your last few posts are nothing but whining at your own incompetence. I'm an Xbox player and with the control scheme that it is to say lacking is an understatement, I don't have the same problems you are. You are of a small minority that I see post on this forum that just whine at the smallest inconvenience for you. So goodbye and enjoy your mindless button masher cookie cutter games. You won't be missed

it does take time to bed the game in properly.. and its knowledge as much as dexterity. as you advance and gain ranks, gain or loose reputation, travel into different types of systems etc, the npc aggression and ability changes also. i have a neurological condition, that causes spasms in my hands, and a persistent tremor in my neck/head, sometimes combat can be awkward for me.. sometimes amusing.. sometimes i fail bad, and that is before taking the game into account.

it took me a good 6 or 7 months to get to grips with combat enough that i can adjust when they change things, or i move to another area, i still get schooled if i don't pay attention to where i am or what i'm doing though. the game will not change for you, so you can choose to continue playing, developing your skills and knowledge, trying different system types and different combat environments. you could watch youtube tutorials, follow twitch streamers like RheaAyase (great pvp'er always more than happy to talk skills and tactics) or neon_raven (very chilled dude, happy to do the same, and he always has good tunes playing) or you can admit defeat, stop playing the game and have wasted your money.

this game will not hold your hand.. play or don't play!

No sure if its a bug affecting some ships but after playing for 2-3hrs last night in CZ's and HazRes's, I noticed very little difference other than cooking when I used SCB's. This is on a A-Spec FAS and going up against Elite Pythons, Anacondas & Vett's (havent seen a cutter yet :p).

So either this is only affecting some ships or builds, not sure. I could be leet but I highly doubt it, then again with the FAS I control the fight, not sure how you would ever get shot at when in a Vulture in the first place?

If you think you are going up against something better than you run otherwise fight.

OP are you saying you loose against sidewinders, eagles and cobras ?

I think the problem OP is having may be the increase in the 100 % accuracy multi firing railgun NPCs that are showing up these days. For me, they don't show up in CZ but in interdictions and USS. I, like many who have posted, very rarely have any trouble with the standard NPCs that roam the place, but when 1 or more of these "cheat" NPCs show up, things can go to hell in very short order. I've fled in a ship that can usually haunt a CZ for hours after being reduced to nearly scrap in seconds by a wing of these Hyper NPCs. I don't mind having to run if outgunned, but these new NPCs are good through having unfair advantages and that is a problem.

Learn what railguns sound like as they hit you.

Recognise them early. DO NOT IGNORE THEM.

If you ignore a hostile NPC packing railguns, you're in trouble.

Well, agree with this, but since the AI shamelessly cheats, it's not as clear-cut. I had a maxed-out Python shield stripped by an Imperial Eagle firing a railgun in candence that puts a cannon to shame, without ever running out of ammo and having to manage heat. So for example in a CZ, I've re-prioritised my targets from smallest (ignoring Condors) to largest.

Speaking of CZs, I find that choosing a faction immediately after SC drop increases likelihood of getting badly swarmed. Boost to a safe distance, choose, assess the situation on sensors, pick your target, in you go.

Before it felt like grinding mobs in some dawn of the era MMORPG. Now it feels like grinding slightly trickier mobs. Sometimes! While some may find them tougher to handle, any increase in challenge from the NPC ships is welcomed. Sure, some might find themselves frustrated but really, we're dealing with a failure to adapt. While we may not agree on how Frontier increases the challenge, with regards to the NPCs at least, said challenges are quickly met and bested.

that is the sound of a railgun..

the preferred weapon of npc's..

it makes a very distinctive sound when fired at you..

so remember it..

The problem as I see it is not that the AI has become tougher (it hasn't imo) or that people need to get more practice (the Learn to fly Noob argument is just bad form), it's how NPC's priorities targets. 1.4 the NPC's would stay more focused on other NPC targets, the 1.5 NPC's react like the dogs from UP, constantly switching targets whenever they get distracted by a moving object, and rairly working as a group until you the player reaches a certain threat level and the NPC's switch to the player.
Case example is you see a friendly NPC attacking an anaconda you jump in to help, Anaconda quickly attacks you and ignores the friendly NPC, friendly NPC leaves you hanging and starts chasing his tail.
Within the past 2 hours I counted this behavior happening with almost every encounter, it was not till the field got cleared of enemies did the friendly npc's start focusing fire, and not splitting off as much. I do not know if this behavior is intended or it is some side effect of another change. but either way I don't personally believe the NPC's should act this way.

-insanity is normality.

So its railguns. Railguns has been non-existent ever since launch, it totally slipped my mind. I was shocked when some ship blew away all my boosted shields on the Python. Didn't even have time to SCB. At first i thought it was Plasma Accelerator but it sounded different and there were no FDL or ships with H hardpoints. After searching around and getting gangraped, it was an Adder railgunning my butthole... Goddamn...
