Hello everyone. I've been in the game preview program since its release. Only just registered today but been reading the forum (s) a lot.

hahaha, thanks for this but you are assuming I know what Dalton Gateway is! Im even prepared to read a user manual or game play manual if there is such a thing - I tried the preview but the manuevering of the craft - whatever it was - annoyed me so much I was sure I must not be understanding the physics or something. Or is the starter ship in the preview just really bad for pivoting/targeting/combat?

ive looked at a few youtube videos but they too are assuming way too much prior knowledge.

I learn quick but I know nothing at the minute - tell me what I need to do first - ill do that then see whats next.

Currently installing! 3 more days before the files are downloaded! Thanks for nothing! 5.3 gig!!!

This means the download will probably hang. Then I have to start all over again. Why can't you cater for people who don't have blazing fast internet?

I am really fed up!

In most cases the broadband speed for downloading of microsoft servers have been slowed down to reduce the change of server crashing. I doesn't matter if you have a good wifi connection or just cable. Your ISP broadband speed will depend on the subscription package you have.

Same here at first. It probably took two or three evenings' play until I felt I'd got to grips with things - that also included lots of internet research/reading these forums/watching YouTube. It's not easy - even on the tutorials I managed to get myself destroyed by a station after not being able to figure out how to request docking. But that just makes it all the more rewarding once you have got the hang of it. I've been playing three weeks or so now and I'm still learning. Unlike the original Elite, I can dock without dashing my ship against the side of a space station, so I consider that a personal triumph.
