Xeno Ally nameplate??

Where is the Xeno Neutral name plate? Or are people so arrogant that they only see black and white.

That would be any name plate that isn't Pro-Xeno or Anti-Xeno - lots of those in the store already.

The Thargoid attacks on human stations could be a response to us mining meta-alloys from their outposts (aka Barnacles)?

It goes further back then that. Based on in-game recordings, the barnacles/meta-alloys were seeded by the infected Thargoids as they retreated/died at the end of the last war; they were preparing for their return. So you'd have to go back to "who shot first" in that war and does it matter any more.

Based on out-of-the game information from the official/canon books, one faction sees us as something they can use as a distraction/bulletshield from the other faction. That's as far as their "friendliness" goes. It's implied the other faction (Klaxian) wants to eliminate that faction (Osresian) and us.

For me, based on a lot of evidence in game, plus statements made by the Devs on the frequency of sentient life (and even lower frequency of spacefaring sentients), I'm fairly convinced both Thargoid factions are the descendants of the bioweapon systems/soldiers that Guardians used in their civil war, which lead to their extinction.

Until I see some very compelling evidence that the Thargoids are willing to halt hostilities permanently (and without making ludicrous demands for peace), I'm remaining anti-xeno. Let me know how many more civilian megaships, stations, etc. have to be wiped out before you come off the fence.

How can you be allied with an alien race that you have nothing in common with, know nothing about and cant even communicate with?
Xeno Ally could be seen as second only to a Thargoid neutral option by some. The term ally could be meant only loosely - as in not actively against them.

As for not being able to communicate with them, we will have to wait and see. Perhaps there will be a Thargoid Translator utility mount upgrade at some point - we have Thargoid scanners after all so there is perhaps the beginnings of a basis for establishing a translation protocol.

It is attitudes like this that lead to avoidable atrocities in war.

Peace has to start somewhere, and so far the Thargoids seem to be constraining themselves to Pleiades... If that means we have to leave that Nebula to them in order to achieve peace then I believe it is a fair concession.

There were indications that Pleiades was going to be a Thargoid home region and providing we (Humans and Thargoids) can stay out of each others way then I see no problem with it. Maybe by expanding in that region we annoyed them enough that they had to respond.

Going from the lore, the major alliance leaders have ALOT to answer for regarding constraining the flow of information over the Thargoids, I just hope that either our technology can advance enough for the Thargoids to see humans as not worth messing with OR we are able to establish lines of communication resulting in a peace accord before things go too far.

Because appeasement has worked so well historically go and ask Neville Chamberlain. Today it's the pleiades once they work out that humanity are spineless welps that will give into any and all demands they will never stop until we are subjugated under them, I would see the bubble burn before I see it owned by the Xenos.

I couldn't agree more.

1) INRA commits mass murder using bioweapons. Few Thargoids survive.
2) Decades later, AEGIS (INRA in disguise) develops weapons to mass murder them AGAIN and FINISH the job.
3) The Thargoids finally strikes back ... AEGIS stations only.

Yep, seems the bugs got the whole Munich memo loud and clear and decided to retaliate this time : too bad humanity is the bad guy.

I'll rescue human civilians caught in the crossfire because I'm a space hippie but I certainly won't support xenocidal maniacs. In fact, I might even shoot some AEGIS targets if I get the chance : space hippie *and* trigger happy, sounds like fun ! :)

I am no ally of the Thargoids BUT the case for us conceding the Pleiades nebula to them is pretty solid IMO. Beyond that it becomes ALOT more grey.

You seem to be thinking of the Thargoids as being similar to us in thought patterns, but from what we have been told the Thargoids are completely alien both in form, thought, and culture.

I would rather see people willing to accept collateral damage in pursuit of a mission of revenge and hate hung, drawn, and quartered than let them drag the rest of us blindly into oblivion.

Attitudes like yours have not served history well either, communication and understanding is key to avoiding atrocities and war. Fail to even attempt to sue for peace and understanding makes annihilation inevitable.

I seem to cope whilst feeling this about humanity in the 21st century, so siding with the thargoids is a comparative breeze!

I have a better idea for a nameplate then.

''Misanthrope'' (with a little picture of a human backstabbing another human while high-fiving a thargoid).

Love it! Can I get one for my car :D
