You can now link your PSN account to EDSM.net to log your journeys!

If i link my EDSM and PSN account now, will it only track going forward from where i am (Waypoint2 on DW) or will it see from the game link that i started from Pallaeni?

I know it can't see archived flight data but wondered if it can see recent sessions

It only tracks real time, while its running, so wont have historical data. Its a pain but, better than nothing.

updates in brackets ( )s for you...
It has no access to any past locations and it will only track the location at every 60 sec mark...
If you do a second jump with in 60 secs they will be ignored... Its not a server side action its purely run in your browser...

If you kill the browser tab or app or window it all stops as nothing happens untill the web browser script hits zero on timer...
Even the PC going to sleep or to lock screen can kill the browser script stopping it reaching zero...

This has been great for DW2.

Definitely had some hiccups on DW2 launch night though. My flight path looks like I backtracked dozens of times between Pallaeni and Shapely 1. I swear officer, I was not frameshifting while under the influence!

Is there a way to search for player profiles or logbooks? I've been keeping track of my cargo manifest for DW2 in the logbook, but it's a pain to have to give out the profile URL instead of just telling folks to search for my CMDR.

Please tell me in inara.cz I made a binding to the PS4 account, but the data is not loaded. I waited a few days. What do I do?

I'm having issues with the Inara one as well. Keep getting errors no matter if I link it to my Playstation or Frontier account. Most likely a problem on their end. It's nice to see Inara doing the same. Once I get it up and running, I'm making the switch..

Is this working for anyone at the moment? I had it running a few hours ago, but now all I get is “Frontier Auth Service is not available”.

Nope was not working, EDSM updater is down. Patch update and DW2 over load likely killed it... lol
give it till 4PM likely be back up by then...

Has anyone else had issues with the updater reporting systems one to three jumps prior to your current one? Take a look at my flight log and travel map to see what I'm talking about (EDSM link in sig). You'll see areas where there is a lot of back and forth.

It also feels a bit awkward being the first to report having visited a system for EDSM, but we can't provide details on the system. Is FDev planning on expanding available data for collection?

I had similar. It isn't limited to one or two jumps previous. It looks like the 60s update puts a request into Frontier and then you get presented back a response from one of the (guessing) load balanced servers. At times of high load, some of these servers appear to lock up or lag which means every now and again you appear to go back to a previous location.

When jumping, I make sure that EDSM tallies with the system I am currently in and (touch wood) have been ok since.

Yeah, I've actually stopped letting the updater run continuously and just tap it once I enter a system/station. That's helped reduce the backtracking responses somewhat.

More than once I've found the flight log has jumped back, which has meant I've had to correct the log.

Busy servers makes sense; I noticed when I set off on DW2 it happened quite a lot (that's my excuse for being slow ;) ), but considering the number of players at the time, it does make sense.

I do find it very handy for tracking where I've been, plus it makes the long journeys a little more interesting - but then again, I do like a good stat!

I just a little over a minute in a system before moving on (FSS Scan) and yes, verifying that's its picked up the current location.

Besides, a few times, I've discovered Stellar Phenomena so it's been worth it.

Im having some issues aswell with this. My finds and scans and mapping dont pick up for most of the times. And flightlog misses out of a lot of places even if i go really slow and make sure that the updater runs a full circle or two. And my jumps go back and fourth even if i go in a straight line..

Bodies/systmems i been first to discover and map sometimes dont show up in Elite dangerous either, I can go back and look at them and it says i mapped them, but my name dont show up on either mapped of first to find. I found sytems untoched but dont get a bonus for first to find/map, I do however get fist to find/map bonus on systmes i sure wasnt fist on..

So i guess there is something really broken in the game with exploration that perhaps effect EDSM to. Yesterday i got to a system that had a lot of the DW2 fleet passing trough yet there was bodies undiscovered and unmapped Yet i was able to get first discover and and first to map in game. But acording to EDSM someone else has the tags? And it say i neither scanned or mapped the bodies?

And also badges that i should recive i dont get. I found a scoopable star and was the fist one to do so with that , but didnt get the badge..

I have made sure to stay long in systems for the updater to work its magic but it will just not work sometimes. I have had similar exprience in both PG, and solo mode..

It's not perfect in any regards but it's much better than what we had before (nothing). It has it's flaws,. but overall, I'm using the EDSM (and Inara) ones like a religion.

Give it time, eventually the programming will be better and things will get fixed, nothing is ever perfect.

After having used this now since December 25th - yes I am that dedicated - the only issue that bothers me is that I'm not getting ALL the systems I've visited. The map and logs show that have visited 222 systems, but I know for certain that I have visited at least double that amount if not more like about 500 systems. It's obviously due to the limited timing for updating and i understand its a necessity, its just unfortunate.

Other than that, I'm loving it - especially the map of my journey.

And if EDSM could get hold of the other data from the console too - that would be nice - same for Inara really. I wonder if this type of game-data sharing is a console first...does anyone know?
