Your fleet?

:-D

I've been going through my ships, trying to figure out what upgrades they need (and whether to flog them) and I started to wonder whether or not this is "normal" for an ED player.

Well, you did ask, so brace yourself for the King of Lists ...

Anaconda

Oh, that's it. Sorry for the build-up - thought I had more than that ;)

Being serious for a moment, I do only have the one ship - well, I've probably got the stock Eagle and Sidewinder somewhere - but I'm exploring at the moment, so I don't need anything else. Maybe when I get back to the bubble in a month or two.

I have 2 x Federal Corvettes (1 for Trading and 1 for Combat), Asp Explore for EXploring (obviously), and a Python, just can't give it up as it was my main earner early on. All of my ships are fully 'A' rated and engineered to the max and I have about 600 million credits in my account, I am thinking about getting a cutter but it is just too slow and handles like a brick, so won't be getting one just yet or until I can afford to fully 'A' rate and engineer, even then it still handles like a small brick. Been playing for about 2 years, Elite Trader, Combat Dangerous and Explorer Ranger but can't seem to rank up any further been trying to for ages.

The Active fleet as of now:
Anaconda (Exxon Valdez) - CG hauler and sometimes a bit of combat, this ship is still under optimization
FdL (Tamed Panther) - Combat
Cobra MkIV (Commodore) - Multirole mission ship
Adder (Spacester) - Mainly passenger and taxi missions
Beluga (Constellation) - Well, passenger missions

Each and every ship is of course an explorer as well. The FdL was even a Beagle Point. :)

I just go boa:
sidewinder (just to occupy parking place)
cobra
python
anaconda

...ok, i just remember that i parked a T 9 and an aspx aswell...!

Last edited:
Sidewinder: Ride Me Sideways (kept for nostalgia mostly)
Cobra III: Brave Sir Robin (ing about the bubble)
Python: Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart (mission running)
Dolphin: Not In The Brochure (passenger missions)
Asp Explorer: Are We There Yet? (exploration)
Asp Explorer: James Bolivar DiGriz (Fuel Ratting, if I ever get the time)
Anaconda: Only Slightly Bent (mining)

Imperial Eagle - Razorblade Romance - highly modified racer for fun
Cobra Mk. III - The Deathperado - medium range stealth ship for covered ops and assassi... err retirement missions
Asp Explorer - DSE Cayetano Valdés - long range armed deep space exploration vessel (currently on active duty)

I owned a Conda, an Imperial Courier, a Viper Mk. III, a Viper Mk. IV, a Cobra Mk. IV, a T6... but in the end the last two ships are all i need, with the first being there for high speed fun only. I sold all i did not touch for some months and i think, there wont be any new entries soon. I like to refit my ships for specific tasks more than to have a different ship for each task.

1x Sidewinder - For Fighter's Club
1x Cobra MkIII - Smuggling ship, I used it for the rares loop
1x iEagle - Stripped down racer, >700ms
1x Courier - Bounty hunting ship
1x Asp Explorer - Was multirole ship, then explorer, now a miner
1x Fer-de-Lance - Heavier fighter, for wing combat or combat zones
1x Clipper - Kinda multirole, but mainly passenger missions
1x Anaconda - Cardboard box explorer and bubble taxi

1x Python soon to come as a medium-pad mission runner

Interesting responses and I guess it's not just me. [up]

I really hadn't thought about this when I made this thread but I suspect there's 2 kinds of people who play ED; there's "pilots" and "engineers".

Pilots are people who want to do stuff so they build a ship and then they go out and do stuff in the ship they've built.
Engineers are people who get their jollies in the process of building the ship, itself.

For the engineers amongst us, every ship is a new challenge and finding something to do with the end-result is almost secondary.

and because of this, my hunger for new ships have never been greater!

My... what?

Be amazed!

Vulture [Reaper] => Main ship for Res farming, CZs, PvP, flying around aimlessly...
Eagle Mk.II => little test-project to see what I can do with that, merely keeping it for it's design and because it's Core Dynamics :D

quite big fleet eh? x)
