Your fleet?

Thank you everyone! My favorite subject...ship talk. I was feeling a bit geekified about my ship list but you all have made me feel better about myself. I buy and sell ships like most folks change socks but that's part of the fun.

I have -
1) Anaconda: LR trading and CG's. A-rated. Never sell it. Grinded like hell to get it. Love it.
2) Python: Trading and missions. A-rated. Dull ship but way too useful and good.
3) T9: My baby. A Lakon. 'Nuff said.
4) T7: As a Lakon T-ship fanboi I had to have one. Made it (finally) a miner to justify keeping it.
5) T6: Its a Lakon.
6) Keelback: Outfitted as a "in the bubble" planetary lander and mission ship. Lakon.
7) DBX: Standing by for my exploration trip - if I get the time to take one.
8) Pending latter today - Clipper. Unsure of what exactly it's role will be except to go fast.
9) Pending - AspX. Love this ship (Lakon...duh) and have almost always had one. Don't right this second in light of the above ship list. Got about everything covered.

Tried going "one ship and one ship only" career (love the idea) and chose the Anaconda as the keeper. Can do everything I reckon except medium pads of course.
Did it for about a month before giving in to my ship, and Lakon, geekiness.

Corvette, fed gunship and a vulture for combat

Dolphin (long range) and a beluga (short range) for passengers

DBx and a conda for exporation

Python for mining

Cutter for trade

Cobra MKIII for everyday bubble stuff (favorite ship atm)

My list seems very reasonable after almost a year playing and a few hundred mil in the bank:

- Sidewinder, equiped with SRV for driving within bubble
- Hauler, for exploring (40LY range) and data courier
- FDL, for combat ofc
- Type-7, for trading
- Type-6, for mission courier (medium pad requirements)
- Dolphin, for passenger missions

If I was to get more ships, it'd only be for another purpose, like a miner perhaps

Lets see..
Starting sidewinder
Hauler (the Adder wasn't in game yet)
Cobra Mk III
Asp Explorer
Anaconda

Also a Viper Mk IV and an Eagle somewhere, I think, that I got as rewards, I've not flown them.

So 7 in total, unless I missed one..

Well if you want my advice, and you didn't ask for it, make the T7 your miner and get a T9 for trading. Come out big sir!

Corvette - death dealing flying fortress. Multipurpose. Home ship
Anaconda - same as that, less combat and more peaceful capabilities like mining. Sits in hangar usually
Viper Mk4 / Viper MK3 / Eagle / Sidewinder - combat. Yep.
Cobra Mk3 - the classic car in your garage you sometimes take out

Soon to get and engineer - Courier, Clipper, Dropship, Assaultship(maybe)

Won't fly a ship if its not A grade and engineerrd to a degree, except travelling in between engineers.

Got every ship that you can buy and a few spare ones for no real reason. Used some as marker back then or just left one when goin to a bigger ship.
All of em are upgraded with A grade stuff where it makes sense.
Some i have engineered some i only flew once and it did go back to the storage.

Ships i use most of the time now:
Cutter for trading
Asp explorer for exploring and planetary landing (mostly materials collector sometimes passenger ship)
Diamond Back Explorer for exploring
Federal Corvette for mining and combat
Python for mining and missions
Beluga only sometimes for passengers

Ships i loved to use:
Cobra MK3
Vulture
Anaconda
T-9 Heavy

But i must admit all ships have there own style and kinda fun to fly. This is one of the things why Elite dangerous is so awesome.

Get comfortable, this might take a while...

1. Sidewinder - started the game with it. Still have it.
2. Hauler - it jumps around pretty fast
3. Adder (Planet Express) - used it for deliveries and a little mining the hard way. Collects dust.
4. Eagle - It's chrome and it goes really fast with Enhanced Thrusters. Fun for buzzing around canyons.
5. Cobra III - Because everyone has a Cobra III. Used to scrounge planets for materials mostly.
6. Viper III - Used for experimenting with weapons.
7. Viper IV - First ship I really loved, did a good bit of bounty hunting with it. Haven't called her since then.
8. Diamondback Scout - Jumps really far, used to shuttle myself around to other places I've parked more useful ships.
9. Diamondback Explorer (Wild Goose) - Jumps farther than the Scout, does the same things in fewer jumps.
10. Type-6 (FedUPS) - When Federal Express and UPS merged, this was my delivery ship.
11. Keelback - When I got serious about hauling freight, but was too poor to afford anything bigger.
12. Type-7 - When I got really, really serious about hauling freight. Still use it for smaller deliveries.
13. Type-9 (Corky) - Because you just can't have enough cargo space. First trip out, got it lodged in the mail slot. Several boosts later, I broke free before the guns unloaded on me. First arrival - did the same thing, lodged in the mail slot, multiple boosts to pop it out. Slammed right into the back of the station, but survived. Has been called "Corky" ever since.
14. Asp Scout - Used to vacuum up pieces and parts for Engineers.
15. Asp Explorer - My first real exploration craft. Then I found out how frelling boring exploring is, and have called it Exboring ever since. C'mon 2.4, show us the exploration love...
16. Python (I Am Become Death) - Combat Python and battle axe.
17. Python (This Side Up) - Mining Python.
18. Python (Heywood Jablomi) - Python Freighter.
19. Anaconda (Gungnir) - Combat Anaconda, because it's good at it.
20. Federal Dropship - Mining ship, been parked near a pristine metallic ring for quite some time. Good for when I want some painite though.
21. Federal Dropship (Óðrerir) - Dropship freighter for outposts, also well armed for @hole NPC's.
22. Federal Assault Ship - Surface Installation raider.
23. Federal Gunship (Mjölnir) - Combat ship, almost too much fun.
24. Vulture - Actually sold the first one I bought, hated it. Bought another quite some time later, fun little combat ship. Good for fixed weapons practice.
25. Federal Corevette (Dáinsleif) - Combat Corvette, because that's what they're built to do.
26. Imperial Eagle - Fast ship? Yeah, it's a fast ship. It's not chrome, but it's even faster.
27. Imperial Eagle - Combat Eagle, from back when I was poor, but wanted to fly something that looked really neat.
28. Imperial Courier (Wild Hunt) - Combat Courier, because it's fun to blow things up in a Courier.
29. Imperial Courier - A general-use Courier, with a little cargo space and a passenger cabin for general missioning.
30. Imperial Clipper (Nudiustertian) - Multi-pew mining ship.
31. Imperial Cutter (Fortune's Favor) - Combat Cutter with some decent cargo capacity. CG ship and CZ vacuum.
32. Fer de Lance (Tactu Mortem) - Assassination missions.
33. Dolphin (Resplendence) - Passenger ship when I need to get someone somewhere sometime soon.
34. Dolphin (Dee Snutz) - Exploration Dolphin.
35. Orca (Steely Dan) - General purpose mission-running Orca with passenger cabin.
36. Orca (Steely Dan III) - Combat Orca, because you just don't see many of them.
37. Beluga (Chillin' the Most) - Passenger ship.
38. Beluga (Naked Singularity) - Deep Exploration and Combat ship.

Sidewinder - Doing stuff
Eagle - Doing stuff
Cobra MK3 - Doing stuff
Cobra MK4 - Doing stuff
Viper MK4 - Doing stuff
Dolphin - Passengers
Imperial Courier - Doing stuff
Keelback - Doing stuff
DBX - Exploration
Vulture - Mainly Combat - sometimes missions.

I am pretty sure that is it. The reason for them is that I enjoy flying them, and that includes the sidewinder.

This will be quick...

One Python (Atomic Eggplant), and one Corvette (The Hammer).

Both configured as armed traders, but I tend to use the Python for the majority of missions, although I do have a tendency to drop into a newly visited system's res sites with it (even full of cargo), just to see how good it is and as a change of pace.

The Corvette gets used mostly for bounty hunting with some mission running scattered in there as the opportunity presents itself, like when I dock at a station to collect bounties and see some cargo missions with juicy payouts.

I don't need anything else. :D

yep OP - you got too many ships!

My functional fleet:
1x Anaconda - mainly for missions
1x Python - mainly for missions prior to getting the conda ( not sold it 'cos I like the paint job I've got on it )
1x FDL - for when I get bored alien stuff and just want to do a combat CG
1x ASP Ex - Main ship
1x T9 - got it for a delivery CG and will probably use it again for that type of thing

My 2nd account:
1 ASP Ex - because I'm using that account for exploration!

I used to have just 2 ASP Ex - one for exploration and one for combat/missions - stayed like for about a year.
I keep wanting to get a Cobra MkIII again, just because - maybe tonight I'll do it!

Let's see:

- some Bookmark Sidewinders that have not been exchanged for real bookmarks yet
- 1 Hauler (Taxi service)
- 1 Vulture (in mothballs, don't really like it that much)
- 1 Imperial Courier (engineered for speed and fun, my favorite light fighter)
- 2 Asp Explorer (one long-range explorer build and one fast smuggler build)
- 1 Imperial Clipper (Big, but still a capable and nimble fighter - largest ship capable of dog-fighting)
- 1 Python (Outpost mission runner)
- 1 Anaconda (Mining Rig - superseded by Cutter for everything else)
- 1 Imperial Cutter (Allrounder, fully engineered, 416 tons cargo, massive shields, SLF, massive fire power, 30 ly jump range, most used ship)
- 1 Corvette (newly acquired, not yet upgraded and engineered)

My ships are either stored at Jameson Memorial or at my home system at the edge of the bubble.

I don't have any Orcas or Dolphins.

Everything else in multiple configurations or based as separate combat fleets at various POIs.

Thought for a moment the numbers to the side was the tally of each ship you had.
I'm tired :)

I don't know why, but I do not like Cobras.

There's something about the cockpit that's meh...

2 x sidewinder
2 x eagle
1 x DBS
1 x DBX
1 x asp scout
1 x asp explorer
1 x keelback
1 x T6
1 x T9
1 x adder
1 x Imperial courier.
1 x federal dropship
1 x dolphin
1 x hauler.

Everything except the T9 is a rated, am also engineering modules.

One each of all ships, except 4 Asp Explorers.

The big 3, FDL, and Python are highly engineered. The Asp Xs are engineered for long range going around errand ships (one for exploration), strategically located in corners of the bubble.

In order of acquistion:

[yesnod] Hauler:
my first ship after the sidey, now FSD range pimped. Call the taxi-boat for ferry and shuttle service...

[noob] *Cobra MKIII (flameing thunder):
nostalgia museum ship, out of business - with firebolt coating

 Vulture
(snow white):
it's always a joy to fly it out into some res or combat-zone

[alien] *Asp-X (red pharao - light wight jump range maxed):
used it a lot back in the times, when it was my only good ship. Flew this to Sag A in pre-engineer times. Now mostly for traveling around doing some odd jobs far away, exploring, visiting Palin for some tin-hat conversations, stuff like that

 Eagle vanilla (some camo colors):
lovely to fly eagle vs ealge in pvp-wing-combat (should do this again)

[blah] Viper:
don't like it, but it's sitting somwhere, becouse I tend not to sell ships I bought once easyly

[woah] I-Eagle, racing pimped:
planetary recon, racing and scout ship

[mad] Cobra MKIV:
just to have one of the worst ships around and remind me of not ever flying this snail-turtle thing. Might sell it to some unsuspecting Tharg someday

praise.gif
*Python (pitch black evil and fully engineered):
My most loved ship for everything. Combat-Medic and what not. It also has a mining-fit and earnt me access to those hull engineers.

 FAS (some combat engineering)
the successor to the Vulture, not often used, but I like to get it out from time to time, for a change

 FDL (some combat engineering):
meh. it's fast and it can do that combat. But somehow it's like with the Viper, just don't really like it. I prefer Python, FAS or Vulture (even the Asp and Cobra MK3) over the FDL anytime.

:S DBS:
tried to make a torpedo bomber - never used it, didn't complete the job. A project I was not enthusiastic enough about. Ship is not really bad, but it just didn't happen to be one of the ships I use.

[hehe] T9:
needed a fortification hauler, and I somehow liked this trading brick. Solid feeling flying this.

[big grin] *Anaconda(patchwork parts, work in progress):
hey it's better than I thought it would be. I even don't really miss my Python flying this big 'un.

(sold the T6, Keelback and T7 - had no real use for those - used the T6 in very early times before I got the Asp, T7-vanilla deathtrap)

* Mile-Stone Ships: ships that I have used mostly to earn the next mile-stone ship.
The Green: in regular use
