I voted for GNU/Linux, because I know it is coming for Windows platform.

However, I would like to see Linux support for more games so that it will one day be viable alternative for Windows-gaming.

Games are the only thing holding me back from switching, and that day when all games run natively on Linux platform is still a distant dream. This is why my "Dream OS" for this game (and all games in general!) is Linux.

Elite: Dangerous should be its own OS.
While flying around I should able to click on a computer screen in my cockpit and open Word and Excel to do some work when necessary.

Hardware Specs

I have an imac 27" 2gb ATI graphics, but i will be playing elite dangerous on my quad core OC'ed PC and will add additional hardware at the point to play it at full specs, prepared currently to upgrade at minimum to a gtx660 desktop card and at least be running 4 cores at 4ghz, pity intel doesnt seem to be adding transistor count and performance to the cheapest unlocked quad core in their range or adding more cores cheaply, as 3d and 60fps 1080p will be the minimum quality i want to play ED at, so I think even 4 cores at 4ghz and a 2gb desktop graphics card will only just be sufficient by the time ED comes out.

Makes financial sense for customers too who dont own a gaming PC like me.
Also backers dont need to pay for an extra Elite game to play on console, only the extra fees incurred in licensing/delivery I believe.

That would be a nice bonus. I know I can get a Mac version for "free" (even though I don't, nor will I ever, own a Mac), but I don't think they'd mentioned the same for console versions have they? :S

Yes it was mentioned somewhere that everyone owns the game, on any platform, digitally. Frontier would make the game free on console to digital owners but there would still be payable download or licensing costs as far as I remember. no idea really how much that would be.

My laptop is where I'll play most of my ED is Win7-64-bit Full-HD. However can't wait for it to come out on Mac as my stepson's Mac has a screen that's better-than-Full-HD resolution. ED will look gorgeous on that!
