Your last enjoyable Elite activity?

I keep it fun by not doing the same thing for too long.. Set off exploring, decided that it was a great opportunity to zoom around on a planet and collect some mats and see some sights. Then I realised I'd come out without a Surface Scanner. oops Now I'm headed towards the Gnosis to pick one up. What happens after that? I'll find out when I get there.

Any gameplay that still requires thought and decisions is what brings me enjoyment.

Been thinking about a great journey and what to bring. What capability do I want. Which ships define me as a pilot. Lots of logistic and strategic decisions behind all of that. Hours of fun just staring at shipyards and lists and internally sorting and organizing has been fun for me.

Anything open related. I need to do task A and this ship and load out would be optimum. But what if I get attacked. Do I want to be able to fight back or just survive. How much off my initial optimum am I going to allocate to each task.

That all still makes me think and ponder and that's where the fun is for me.

Tinkering and pondering in outfitting and thinking of engineering projects and working towards inklings. Not for optimum or meta, but just for science and to try things.

Playing in shipyard to optimize builds is fun lately.

The only time ED isn't fun is when I do things I don't want to do and they are simple with no thought behind them.

Decided to put on my tourist hat and bounce out to Sag A* yesterday. Got there this morning.

Last time I was there was in 2017. Lots changed. In game I was still with Newton's Fusiliers, the Coma War was just starting to heat up, and I just met my soon to be real life best friend. I couldn't even imagine Loren's Reapers and the Nameless yet.

Out of game... well, I wasn't sick yet. Next month will be a year since my diagnosis with Type 1 Diabetes. It still sucks, but I'm managing. I'm living.

In another thread someone made a joke about trying to gank Sag A*. I said best to flip it the bird and go for the ram. In the face of inevitability my best answer is still defiance. Shouldn't surprise me, I suppose.

Thanks for putting up with my crap all these years, everyone. Hell of a game we got here.

Your having too much fun Cmdr. You want to tone it down some and encrust yourself with salt. I mean jeez, your going to bring down morale around here with that kind of attitude.

Your passion for the game bleeds through your posts and communications. Its also contagious. o7.

Was musing with my old guild buddy the other day and we got to chatting about ED again.
We both came to the realisation that the last thing we had both enjoyed was participating in DW2.
Even more disturbing was that since DW2 finished last summer we had only been online together in Elite on two occasions!

Anyone out there finding fun stuff to do?

Nope. Between Combat Logging and absolutely no need for players to ever interact, there really us nothing to do besides fly around and say: "wow, what a great flight model!"

E:D will always be the greatest missed opportunity in the history of gaming.

The culmination of months of work on a project I am involved in is about to happen, tonight a friend & I have a war to start. The actual activities we are doing is lots of easy, little things. Knowing what things to do is the tricky bit.

Huge fun ;)

Good luck! Knock 'em... well, dead. :D

I've been playing since the Kickstarter Beta and so I feel I gots my money's worth. I'm gonna throttle down on the game now. The last enjoyable activity was last week. A bunch of us got into Sidewinders with interdictors for an every-man-for-themselves. The rules were simple.. Stock Sidewinders. Stay in the one system. If yer killed you get to upgrade one item on yer ship

Your last enjoyable Elite activity? Everytime I ask myself this question, I stop playing.

I eventually need to get back out into the black again, so start playing again--and the cycle continues. Well, right after I've had my fun with Borderlands 3 this weekend.

Sounds fun!

"Whoops, I got killed. Guess it's time for my Punishers . . . "

I blame the stigma surrounding turrets on people like Exigeous. Seriously. Posting about how they're "sad" to see people using them and that they should just "git gud". There's still a lot of that going around from what I can see.

Yeah. Perhaps what's the interesting part is how the "pvp meta" falls away from necessary so quickly when you leave pvp. Even more so, outside of pvp, there are so many factors that change the objective best, even to your control scheme, its far more complex than fer de lances and whatever gun they're using.

Still, its the fault of the reader for believing junk because it was lack real experience and not trying things first hand that allows it... when there's a better place to discuss this i have a long post available.
