I really hope it's a lot more complex than Dinosaur Island Tycoon (or any of the theme park tycoon style games) and aimed at a more mature audience, unfortunately I don't think it will be aimed at the sorts of people that enjoy games like Cities:Skylines, Banished, etc.

For me I'd want micro management of almost every aspect of the park, but I also understand that is probably a niche market to design a game for.

Anyway, I'll certainly follow the development of the game with hope it ends up being fun.

See it's that micro-managing that turns me off... I've worked in environments with people who micro-manage. They don't realize it, but every single body they come it contact with hates them to the very core of their existence.
But I get it - for some, that's just how they have to be and couldn't fathom anything else. To make a game of it though? Now THERE'S a special niche indeed!

But success to the project - money to Frontier, and may it funnel back into Elite to make it everything it has the potential to be.

The things I would love to see Jurassic World Evolution have to do with creating dinosaurs.

When it comes to non hybrids I would like to be able to make the different variations present in the films for example:

I'm wishing that the game is really in depth with plenty of micromanaging (or at least a slider to allow players to change the complexity). Like down to farming the sea around the island, the lakes and also raising sheep (or goats ;o) etc to feed the dinosaurs. I want it to be like an AI life simulator where the goal is to have a huge park dino ecosystem where you have to find a fine balance of culling off certain dinos to keep, for example, too many of them eating all the plants but at the same time enough for the t-rex to eat. And stuff like in real life where they put wolves back into yellowstone (i think) park it had the unexpected effect of allowing the reeds to grow back at the river sides and stopped the rivers from run away eroding. That level of gaming would be epic but I doubt it's going to be sort of game.

I can totally see how some people don't like micro managing in games, and know some of my friends can't stand that sort of game. Even I sometimes take a step back sometimes on certain games and think 'hang on a minute, I'm playing a flipping spreadsheet here'.

The long-term appeal for this game, at least personally, are the dinosaurs. The park building holds your attention for a while, but at the end of the day it usually becomes more of the same once you've figured it all out. As a dinosaur behavior simulator though, that's when the game becomes substantially more interesting.

JPOG held a pretty solid dedicated player base for a long time, not so much because of its park building aspects (there are better park builders) but because of the interesting interactions among dinosaurs.

I really hope this isn't a cash grab by Frontier to funnel money into Elite Dangerous. If it's a nice by-product of success, great! Otherwise, It's been 14 years since Jurassic Park Operation Genesis, and I want them to put their passion and heart into this game (which it looks like they have) and make it memorable.

I would like to see some assets from the original Jurassic Park return like the visitor center. I know it's Jurassic World now and all. But please just let us have some of the old JP stuff to use as well. That would be nice and would be huge fan service.

I would also like a Site B mode where the dinosaurs can just roam freely. I saw the in game footage and the game looks wonderful. With dinosaurs that amazing looking we should get a free roam Site B mode. It would be like a Dinosaur screen saver or something. I would just start the game up and watch them roam for a bit. Sure, go ahead and make it an unlockable mode like JPOG did. The graphics this game showed off and all the talk about the Dino AI means its just too amazing to be used for a park sim only. A Site B mode would be the least work to make IMO. Isla Sorna is already in the game.

Other than that the game looks amazing and I just found out about it back in October. I played around with JPOG for a while and the whole park sim part of the game is pretty weak. I recently bought Planet Coaster to see how Frontier does with park sims and it's pretty darned good. I also have Elite Dangerous, which is pretty good as well.

I am really hoping this game is as good as it looks. With Frontier at the helm I don't see how it could be a bad game. I also hope it doesn't get cancelled. I am really looking forward to this game. I want it so bad. lol

I was reading the Jurassic Park novel recently and they had a river ride planned. I hope we can build a river ride in our park as well. With the graphic capabilities of the game and how good it looks a river ride would very nice to look at and have. It would make the park look awesome.

Your wishlist for Jurassic World Evolution

I hope to see a very cool mechanic to create new dinosaurs. Genetic engineering.

I would also like the ability to add sensible upgrades to buildings.

Interesting build options to create a cool park.

Large areas to build on. Perhaps an option to enlarge the island.

It'll be pretty cool for them to include biome customization (beaches, swamps, coniferous and tropical forests). It'll also be cool to include both modern and prehistoric plants, similar to Operation Genesis. Of course, similar to that game there could be a trade-off for each one: modern trees are cheaper and are more beautiful to guests but are poisonous to herbivores while the prehistoric plants are more expensive, aren't as beautiful to the guests but are healthy for the herbivores (and in JP:OG the Dino Nerds love the autheniticity of the trees in an exhibit). It would be cool for the game to include flora from all over the globe, like Zoo Tycoon. In the first film, the Triceratops gets sick from eating plants brought from the mainland (Costa Rica) that were added to make the park more beautiful. This could also be a game mechanic where herbivores suffer from Gastric poisoning. Furthermore, plants from North America, Africa, Europe, etc would be a nice touch. There's also a digiste in Madagascar (which has an interesting indigenous flora population) which gave me an idea: in addition of getting dinosaur dna from the digsites, you could also get paleo flora dna from the region.

One of my whishes would be a scientifically up-to-date representation of the dinosaurs:
Raptors and other Theropoda with feathers, Triceratops with colorful neck shield, Tyrannosaurus with age-dependent head-forms and skin features (longer head & feathers when young / compact head & color to signal sexual maturity when adult).

http://www.abc.es/Media/201203/01/torosaurus_1--644x420.jpg

Also a correct behavior simulation (of course in a reasonable degree) in the cases we know about them.

However much i LOVE the idea of them making the dinosaurs more up to date with how we NOW know they actually looked. Jurassic Park created a style of dinosaurs for the big scream, terrifying dinosaurs for sure. When people think of Jurassic park they will always and forever remember the dinosaurs of the film's...... in changing the whole style of the dinosaurs now it wouldn't fit the "theme" of Jurassic Park....and this is part of the Franchise, so people would expect it to fit.

Although saying this, to be able to create your own dinosaurs in the game you might be able to make your own versions of today's correct knowledgeable version. That would be cool and nice to share with the community :)

my wishes for Jurassic world evolution

- I am really hoping for in depth genetic modification/dino design preferably through unlocking and editing genes.
- Protofeathers. I would love to see a fuffly T.Rex
- mod support. I don't really think my second point will be incorporated, so I'm hoping I could get it in my game another way.

The game looks really good so far and I'm excited to play it when it comes out, I especially liked the design of the Edmontosaurus recently shown.
There are a few things I'd like to see in JWE which I've listed below:

- From the trailers it seems there are diverse weather systems and perhaps even a day/night cycle. It would be cool to see how this affects the park in terms of the dinosaurs & guests reactions to certain weather conditions. For example dinosaurs may seek shelter during storms or are more likely to escape during bad weather due to agitation. Guests may not be as satisfied when the dinosaurs are hiding/in shelter. But also, the ability to build our dinosaurs shelters would be a really neat idea. A lot of zoo's have indoor areas for their animals and so indoor areas for our dinosaurs would be a really nice addition. These indoor areas could also be used to quarantine dinosaurs which are sick to prevent them from infecting the rest of the herd etc. or to provide closer viewing for the guests.

- While it has been noted that breeding will not be being added I do think it would provide longevity to the play-time of the game. Being able to breed and manage herds & packs for their genetics, rotating and managing the breeding population, selling dinosaurs for profit and having baby dinosaurs would really add to the game and the whole park management aspect. It was a key feature in older park Tycoon games like Zoo Tycoon and really improved the longevity of the zoo's and parks built within the game. Along with this interesting breeding animations could be added and more complex social structures. For example, having only an Alpha raptor pair in the pack being able to breed with them killing the young of other raptors or being challenged for dominance by subordinates. Separating aggressive male Pachycephalosaurs & Triceratops to prevent them from harming each other during the breeding season or having only the dominant males be part of the herd with others being bachelors much like how some modern herds of herbivores behave today. Hadrosaur males may use vocalisations to attract females etc. I think breeding mechanics would really add a lot to the game and would potentially make a neat expansion or DLC if not included in the base game.

- Some free-ranging dinosaurs, for example, if small harmless dinosaurs such as Dryosaurus or Microceratus are included in the game it would be cool to have the ability to have them free range around the park much like some zoo's have some animals free ranging around the guests. I believe in one of the JP books Microceratus were free roaming and there were issues with them eating the guests trash. I think this would be a cool addition to the park with visitor/Dinosaur interactions going alongside it such as petting, feeding etc.

- Inter-species animations. From the trailer I can see predator-prey animations which is a really good addition and along with this I hope that some prey species have an equal chance of escaping or injuring the carnivore as they do being eaten. But also within herbivore only exhibits some may be aggressive to each other to get the best grazing areas etc. or for dinosaurs like Parasaurolophus to keep their distance from Ankylosaurus which could accidentally injure them with their tails. Some dinosaurs may prefer herding with each-other more than others like similar Hadrosaurs when each species isn't kept in sufficient herd numbers.

- Individual variations among species. I understand there will be genetic differences within the game but from the trailers it seems that most of the dinosaurs look the same as each-other. I think slight skin variations within particular patterns would be cool to add diversity like darker/lighter skin tones and some model differences like a triceratops with a broken horn from battling or slightly larger/smaller dinosaurs of the same species. Similarly, gender differences among colouration & model would be a good idea. Another thing would be personality differences if this is possible. So some dinosaurs maybe more fearful than others or more agressive. An example would be a Triceratops which decides to run from a predator or one which decides to fight it. I think individual differences among the same species of dinosaurs would add some personalisation to the game and the ability to recognise individual dinosaurs within the park would make it a lot more interesting.

- Lastly, a Site B option. Within the origional JPOG game and even within the ZT2 series I often made nature reserves or miniature ecosystems rather than parks. I think being able to create our own dinosaur ecosystem with predators and their prey would be really cool and to have them interacting with their environment and each other in diverse ways would create a new way to play the game. Another idea linked to the Site B option would be being able to transfer dinosaurs from our island to Site B to live in the 'wild'. If breeding was an option we could also send bred dinosaurs there instead of selling them on for profit or to science.

Many different animations for carnivores hunting, grabbing and killing (including humans).
In JPOG this was the thrill factor for me, and kind of what made me excited about having carnivores in my park.

Im very excited to see what the raptors attacking humans will look like. Will they pounce on to them like in JPOG, or will they perhaps bite and wrestle them to the ground?

In JPOG the animations for medium sized carnivores was kind of disappointing. They didnt have a grab animation and they kind of just attacked into the air, and if a human or animal was standing next to them they would flinch or die. Id like it to be more detailed than that.

me gustaría ver un modo historia, con una animación en momentos específicos de conforme vas avanzando en el juego, con la historia de las islas o en momentos de catástrofe

I'm hoping for some kind of "Park" Features. Like the Tracked Jeep Ride the first Movie had. I'm not much of a Fan of the "Bubble Cars" the Guests Ride in. Viewing Platforms maybe too. :D

I was watching a video someone on YouTube made about the recent Ingen database release on Ceratosaurus and them mentioned how it's now known that the Ceratosaur fed on fish and other aquatic creatures and it has a flexible tail for swimming. It would be pretty interesting if some of the land dwelling dinosaurs in the game could actually swim. It makes me think of the scene from the JP book where the Tyrannosaur attacks the raft grant and the kids were in.

But maybe that's too much to expect.

I want to have the option of making a park using the buildings/vehicles/overall look of the first movie. I love the safari theme with the brightly colored vehicles. It's distinct and instantly recognizable.

I don't like the blue/gray 'modern' look of Jurassic World. Too bland and corporate-looking.
