I just stumbled across this and though I'd share it.

The one that got the review of Elite:-

Great find, cheers! In retrospect, incredible that Elite missed out on being the cover story in favour of Zoids. While I loved Zoids as a kid they are all but forgotten now, while Elite lives on!

Wow, Crash was a large part of my childhood. :) I loved the artwork of Oliver Frey in particular.

Funnily enough I started Elite on the speccy and also progressed onto the Amiga version. Oddly though, I have never progressed past Competent on any version of Elite/Frontier that I have played, despite that fact that have spend years playing them!

Perhaps you have the same problems as us peaceniks at Lave Radio. Apart from 2nd Technician Forrester, we are all seemingly obsessed with exploration and mining and spend very little time killing!

How deep is deep space?

Pretty deep is the answer.

I used to enter a system (ahem, still do it now from time to time), get the planet behind me and fly, and keep going. I'd start with an empty cargo hold and kill everyone that attacked me; I wanted to see if I could 'crash' the game or do something weird to the coordinates by flying past the edge of the solar system. Needless to say, I never managed to do that. Eventually the sun and planet would disappear but I always wanted something to happen.

On the plus side the value of 35 tonnes of cargo that didn't cost a penny was the best payback for such a trip.
