Let's play: Guess the Winter DLC

I'm think I might be one of the only that thinks that the next dlc might be rainforest animal pack, so the animal roster that I hope will be and also see is:
  1. Linnaeus's two-toed sloth (Headliner of the dlc, it might will be the exhibit animal but also might not. and if the sloth will be habitat animal I definitely think it might be the headliner animal).
  2. Lar Gibbon (after the brachiation I'm sure that we will get another brachiation new animal and the lar gibbon is the most requesting brachiation animal now so it would be prefect)
  3. Red River Hog
  4. South American Coati
  5. Fossa
  6. Goodfellow’s Tree Kangaroo
  7. Black Howler Monkey/Ocelot
  8. Exhibit: Linnaeus's two-toed sloth/Panther Chameleon/ Scarlet macaw

After last 5 DLC’s being nearly entirely dedicated to temperate forests I would gladly welcome Tropical woodlands or Drylands DLC.
Highlands dlc would also be real fun but I do miss tropical animals and Wetlands did not satisfied me enough.

@Swiftie_Folklore_ list is really great 😊
I would also be equally happy with Drylands animal pack:

Dromedary
Caracal
Emu
Striped hyena
Somali wild donkey
Hamadryas baboon
Addax

But I would be happy with any pack actually. North Pole animal pack with wolverine, musk ox and walrus would be amazing too and much more fitting for this time of the year.

I think whatever the pack will have an emphasis on birds but won't be a full 100% avian DLC. My best guess is that is going to be an animal pack, and since the last one was biome based they will probably go back to that theme... now i'm not sure about what biome they will choose... we had wetlands so maybe Drylands... but if we consider the "Christmas focus" we might get something like Coldlands or Highlands Animal Pack

A Higlands Animal Pack is what i think would be more interesting, with animals from montanious regions around the world

  • Spectacled Bear
  • Rhea
  • Pallas cat
  • Markhor
  • Himalayan monal
  • Gelada
  • Andean condor
  • Kea (EX)

What i would actually like is a Southern Hemisphere Animal Pack (don't know what a good name could it be for it):

  • Emu
  • Tasmanian Devil
  • Kiwi
  • Howler monkey
  • Ocelot
  • Maned wolf
  • Some african bird: secretary bird, grey crowned crane or marabou stork
  • Scarlet macaw (Ex)

Still missing the waterfowls though :(

I'd prefer a Polar Pack like the one I've suggested in the other Winter DLC Thread, so we'll also get some additional antarctic Penguin Species and a antarctic Seal too

grumpy cat
lol
When will we get a Meme Animal Pack? (Pepe the Frog as Exhibit Animal 👍)

Winner gets to say "I told you so", and a picture of a wolverine in a fancy sombrero.
Great prizes, so I'm taking part :D
I also choose the mountains.
Highlands/Mountains Animal Pack
  • Golden Takin
  • Wolverine
  • Gelada
  • Markhor
  • Musk Ox
  • Pallas Cat
  • Spectacled Bear/American Black Bear (although for me Spectacled Bear fits better)
  • Western Skink [Exhibits]
I know 3 ungulates... But I can't help it, I need them 🥰
I believe that this package, will be related to "winter". Maybe not all animals, but still something

Not only 3 ungulates, even 3 goat species 😀

Edit: I do not know why so much people put the Musk Ox to a Highlands pack. According to Wikipedia they are primarly found within valleys

Probably gonna get flak for this but I'm still a believer in the Avian Animal Pack. I have no guesses as to what would come in it and how it would work. Maybe it's all exhibit birds maybe some exhibit, some habitat. IDK! I know it's becoming less of a popular opinion but I gotta stick with my gut feeling!
If I had to give some guesses I would say birds like
  • Bald Eagle
  • Kiwi
  • Secretary Bird
  • Emu
  • Toucan (Any)
  • Scarlett Macaw

Are probably some sure fires, but who knows. I'm just excited for more animals tbh no matter what we get!
Guys Old Countries content is very entertaining on Youtube. Good for Friday night.

Well lets give it a go with some packs!

Grassland pack: (surprised nobody did that so far)
1. Greater Rhea: Important backbone for South American Sections together with the...
2. Patagonian Mara! Really these two are the most needed south american animals, nothing spectacular but defenetly unique and common in zoos.
3. Maned Wolf: As the largest predator of the Pampa, it only feels right to have him as our third and final south american animal in the pack. Also popular
4. Black Footed Ferret: A conservation marvel that would fit great with the prariedogs as a predator and prey dynamic. Would be a great and unique representation for the great plains
5. Common Eland: No ungulate so far and no more to come, the largest african antelope of them all seems like a fitting addition to a grassland pack
6. Secretary Bird: i dont really care about them but they are popular and a second bird thats quite different from our ingamd birds so why not
7. Lace Monitor: the reptile of the pack, its the most common australian monitor species in zoos and has a wide range across the continent
8. Red Fody (WE): A small bird from madagascar thats both colorfull and common in zoos woth 48 EAZA holdings

This pack might not be the most diverse in continents with a 3/3/1/1 split, but imo thats fine as both africa and south america didnt get a lot of dlc content.
Africa had by far the best base game start, but some fresh new animals would be very welcome.
The eland could easily be swapped for the back buck, which while also a good inclusion feels more like a nice addition, while the giant eland as the largest antelope feels more bombastic, something that any new especally african antelope needs.

Good pack idea but the Giant Eland actually has no presence in EAZA Zoos (I do not know how common it is in other parts of the world). I do not really mind that and I just mentioning it because I had always the feeling that this is an important criteria for your animal choices. How about to replace the biggest African antelope with the smallest?

Guess im just gonna replace it with the common one, my bad for that overseight.
I actually considerd a duiker, but imo the pack was missing size with only the birds and arguably maned wolf being larger then a dog, so a large ungulate felt like a perfect fit
