This thing doesn't behave like a regular interceptor at all. It deploys a shield as soon as it exits hyperspace and then proceeds to either deploy a sensor or collect an existing probe before leaving again. It also leaves a caustic trail behind it that will inflict you if you pass through it.Deploying sensors? That would be new behaviour
The instant it detects you it summons some scouts and fires a shutdown pulse that also starts breaking down your guardian modules for as long as the Orthrus is still alive. You can neutralize the shutdown but not the module damage, and apart from this and the caustic trail it doesn't seem to have any other weapons. It also doesn't regenerate from damage, so focusing it down seems to be priority #1 to stop it from collecting what is presumably recon data on human assets.
Stealing or destroying the sensors/probes could also help but I'd need to see that confirmed first before assuming that does anything.
Update: The Orthrus' pulse may be targeted, or maybe this is just a bug. In a wing, only the first ship to aggro it is getting hit by it. Nobody else is getting hit with module damage even after opening fire on it.
Oddly enough, no. You can use collectors in the cloud and even fly around with a decon limpet attached if you don't mind constantly being spammed about corrosive being applied and removed.Don't the limpets just get killed by the enviroment?
