Gimballed is better as scout killer, you're right. But to kill interceptor you need to shoot in the heart - with fixed AX MC you can aim visually, but with gimballed you must scan it by xeno scanner first, and then you can aim exerted heart, by choosing it in sub-targets. Otherwise your gimballed AX MC will shoot in the body of interceptor without any serious damage.as the gimballed and fixed versions have the same damage why would anyone pick the fixed one, which already has dubious utility as a scout killer? is this by design or a mistake that will soon be corrected, like the salvation gauss? an enhanced ax mc isn't overpowered or game breaking though..
also, would be nice if they buff the ax mc piercing across the board
easiest way to make life easier for a lot of cmdrs would be to have a galnet announcement that - owing to intense battlefield experience from the recent maelstroms - a firmware upgrade was made overnight to existing xeno scanners (like to the fss), increasing range to 2km.Gimballed is better as scout killer, you're right. And that's the problem in AX CZs - to scan interceptor, in the middle of the battle. That's why many players request better xeno-scanner, longer range and faster.
Only a few small ones. Tiny, in fact. Pay us no mind. How many Thargoid spies are working for Frontier Developments?![]()
The large ones keep running out of stock at an astonishing pace - CMDRs buy them like candy. Especially at those rescue ships where all the evac missions are sent to - primarily Tarach Tor and Altair. I bought half a dozen large ones in Ross 112 last night.Only 2 size gimballed version is available. Is this another bug? Or another FDev style update?
Mine has two Short Range/Oversized Imp Hammers, with a (deliberately bad) 7D Overcharged/Monstered PP. Firing two salvos from both pushes heat to ~135%, the sweet spot for corrosive gunk from scouts. Near instant burn off and minimal module damage, with zero down time. Works like a charm but with more practice I got better at avoiding corrosion altogether, so for the retrofit to gimballed AXMCs I'll try and see if a single Hammer might actually be enough. For anti-scout Krait Cmdrs with now 4x AXMC gimballed... what's your plan for 5th slot?
Atm I have Class 1 Beam turret with thermal vent. Not sure why though. Should I put it on Fire at will now and let it shoot whoever it wants?
1, yes 2, yes 3, yesAs usual, I'm late and clueless.
Would anyone be so kind as to tell me:
1. How much better are the large gimballed AXMC compared to the old ones?
2. Can I get them if I didn't participate in the CG (and if so, how)?
3. Was the CG supposed to run for a month? How's it over already?
Thanks!!
seriously tho.. there wasnt a gimble mc before so.. probably better, you can pick them up from the rescue ships and CGs run until completion =)As usual, I'm late and clueless.

Find a system with one of the Rescue megaships, dock there and you should be able to buy them. How can I get them?
