Fantastic work CMDRs!! Looking forward to trying these out when I get back home in a couple to days. Got a Viper MkIV with two C1 Guardian Shards waiting on a pair of these gimballed MCs to finish the build off!!
 
I'm seriously tempted to slap four of them on that spare FDL hull I've got kicking about in storage and turn it into a guardian-module-free orthrus hunter.
I've tried the AX fixed multis against an Orthrus, and despite hitting it hard, I couldnt destroy it before he ran off. I've even used synth ammo, but that just gave an extra 10% damage.

Now I'm trying with the fixed AX missiles. I believe that these will be better at it, but I cant find a single NHSS4 in any alert system I went on. Signal Sources in alert systems are too sparse!
 
Confirmed! Its numbers look like this:

Compared to the enhanced Turreted version:
  • The class 3 deals almost double the damage, and can continue firing for just shy of 17 seconds as opposed to 14.5 seconds before reloading.
  • The class 2 deals over double the damage, though can only continue firing for 14 seconds as opposed to 14.5 seconds before reloading.

I was wondering about finally unlocking modshards and making a modshard/MC hybrid krait for CZs. Shards for taking out the smaller interceptors, and MCs for dealing with the scouts.

... or, since I've been having to deal with scouts in my triple-gauss FAS anyway and got some moderate success at oneshotting them, and modshards are likely to be a lot easier to land than gauss...

I could just slap four shards on a phantom and call it a day.
 
These are NOT available at every rescue ship. I am currently in the Tarach Tor system at rescue ship Bertschinger and they are not available in the outfitting section under experimental weapons. I am going to head over to the Blest system as mentioned in this post.

Similar in Altair's rescue ship. Only the Medium one is available. Headed to Blest as well.
 
For anti-scout Krait Cmdrs with now 4x AXMC gimballed... what's your plan for 5th slot?

Atm I have Class 1 Beam turret with thermal vent. Not sure why though. Should I put it on Fire at will now and let it shoot whoever it wants?
 
OK. I slapped 3 of the large 3C gimballed and 1 medium 3E gimballed enhanced AX multi cannons on my Scout killing Krait MK II. They worked great. It is much easier to stay on target and score more hits. Kills were quicker so you could clear an AX conflict zone much faster. My 5th slot has a beam laser that I occasionally use to remove the caustic substance by going into silent running and firing at nothing until my ship temperature exceeds 120.

I will probably put only 3 large AXMCs and one Gauss/Modshard + 2D Ventbeam

btw gimballed 2D Beam Laser will vent out way more heat than a 1F turret, the only viable turret here is the 3D one (I believe it will vent +- the same as 2D gimbal?)

Well, my original plan was for a Phantom with 2 C3 and 2 C2 … but that accidentally got turned into a general purpose mission runner … I do have a Krait MkII - which has a C3 LR/TV Beam, two C2 Modified Plasma Chargers and two C2 Modified Shard Cannons - but I think I’m gonna leave that as-is for a (primarily) Interceptor build … need to find some folks to wing with, though.

However, I will very probably replace the two C3 turreted EAX MCs on my FAS with gimballed versions since the DPS is so much higher. Those would run alongside a pair of Modified Plasma Chargers in the C2s and I don’t think I’d switch them out as the C2 hard points aren’t well positioned for anything other than fixed weapons, IMO.

I also plan to put two C2s on my Viper MkIV alongside two C1 Modified Shard Cannons - although I suspect that’ll be more “fun” than ”functional” when it comes to staying alive! I have similar concerns about the C2 HP placement here but hoping the Viper’s smaller size means they’ll be able to target reasonably well. Been ages since I’ve flown one!!

Oh you have to tell me, how the Viper MK4 will work out. I also have a AX MK4 Viper. It has 2 size 2 mod. plasma chargers and 2 size 1 turreted thermal vent beams. But haven’t tried it out yet, because I had the same idea, switching to 2 size 1 mod. Shards and maybe 1 size 2 gimballed EAXMC and 1 size 2 mod. ax missle rack (Sirius version).
