Monday, Frontier will presumably be back at work...
They could rebalance the economy like they did with Exobiology (just even more extreme).Let it burn and give us base building, like that they have an excellent opportunity to crash the economy, make us all poor as door mice, and rebalance the economy when we start to rebuild in small bubble clusters out in the black. We'd probably need new jump technology though, so that we can jump large distances for BGS war activities..![]()
I wouldn't mind my billions becoming worthless, but maybe with a bit more finesse than what happened to the exo-biology rankings. They could rebalance the economy like they did with Exobiology (just even more extreme).
Everything now earns you about 1000x as much credits, everything now costs about 2000x as much credits. All those billions players have accumulated over the past have become rather meaningless.
It's definitely something which would have a major timing component to it: if someone currently has 10 billion credits, and after the rebalance they're only worth 10 million credits, that's cut their assets considerably. If they spend those 10 billion credits on buying ~50 8A Prismatics, then after the rebalance, they can sell those and still have huge amounts of money.I wouldn't mind my billions becoming worthless, but maybe with a bit more finesse than what happened to the exo-biology rankings.![]()
Mostly with no populationbut there's still >300 systems under goid control
If what they said on the stream about it being an AI that they've just put the rules into and let loose, then I don't think they can change it's behaviour. This is assuming that:
1) We continue to place no value at all on stopping the Thargoids capturing uninhabited systems, which they presumably do have some use for or they wouldn't do it.
2) The Thargoids continue to politely place almost all their new Alerts each week on uninhabited systems.
If they keep putting only 8 or so Alerts a week on inhabited systems, then yes, after a few more weeks of saving 10 systems a time, we should have got them to a point where their Alerts and Invasions of inhabited systems are all being stopped before they get as far as Control ... at the cost of freely letting them have 40 or 50 new uninhabited Control systems each week, most of which we'll never recover.
If they switch to putting 40 or 50 of their weekly Alerts onto inhabited systems (which they certainly have enough total Alerts to do), then being able to stop ~10 a week from progressing is going to be a massive defeat every single week.
Sure, but there are plenty of static rules it could follow which would mean that the current inhabited/uninhabited balance is not constant over time.If what they said on the stream about it being an AI that they've just put the rules into and let loose, then I don't think they can change it's behaviour.
With great difficulty, yes - though it appears that a mid-sized squadron could probably retake some of them fairly easily, instead. Of course, at the cost of them not supporting somewhere "more important".I don't know how we can stop them taking over systems with no population, unless it's looking for NHSS and killing Thargoids in ones and twos? (which would also be a combat only option)
OK cheers. With great difficulty, yes - though it appears that a mid-sized squadron could probably retake some of them fairly easily, instead. Of course, at the cost of them not supporting somewhere "more important".
If there's genuinely only 10 Alerts - as opposed to Overwatch just not having a full list of them (especially in uninhabited systems) this early in the cycle - that's very bizarre in its own right, since there were over 50 last week and over 80 the week before! There's actually currently 33 systems in Alert and Invasion. As three of the Alert systems have no population, there's a very high chance that the community will save all 14 that finish next week.
Yeah I've not been in game to check yet, will have to wait till after work. There could well be more, I was expecting more tbh.If there's genuinely only 10 Alerts - as opposed to Overwatch just not having a full list of them (especially in uninhabited systems) this early in the cycle - that's very bizarre in its own right, since there were over 50 last week and over 80 the week before!
ohh greatLet the Goids destroy the entire bubble and shut down the BGS completely.
A global clean save might work...It's definitely something which would have a major timing component to it: if someone currently has 10 billion credits, and after the rebalance they're only worth 10 million credits, that's cut their assets considerably. From my point of view as someone who already has their main ship how they like it and a good range of "once a year" backup ships for special occasions, credits are going to be pretty irrelevant no matter how they're balanced.
Those uninhabited systems might be resources for the Thargoids. We just don't know.Mostly with no population

I'm assuming there's a backdoor into it, to shut it down though...

It's an interesting question, isn't it.How bad is it for humanity if the Thargoids take control of systems we hadn’t bothered to inhabit, after all there is a lot of those out there.
