Update 14.02 Now Live!

Lighting seems to be more dynamic (or it always was, but I just noticed today :D ) - at least planetary bodies become brighter when your cockpit goes in shadow and darker when it becomes illuminated.

Can you please take mission board screenshot and check if there are still also other missions leading to abandoned settlements? Ive spent few hours in few systems in area where I was searching for these missions, but all I found was not working missions.

... could be there may be "tick" effect in progress ... is late, but will check mission board again now.
It looks like you were able to find some working later on.

Thank you especially for fixing the [labelfield] error!

To all the devs at Frontier, I know the community can complain a lot about problems in the game. I've been guilty of it too. Just remember we wouldn't be so if we didn't love the fruits of your labor so much. Thanks for the much-needed patches, and thanks for all you do.
Wait, we only beat you because we love you?

Would also be good to get an update on the mission board issue. I know folks basically haven't been able to play any missions now since beginning of December.. :(

During the Sync files step I get two times the same error message: Unhandled Exception; data error (CRC check)
When I click on the OK button of one of the error messages all error messages and the launcher will get closed.

In the launcher I already tried it with enabled and disabled cache check - same outcome. Who has an advice what I can do?

quick reply: Only solution to solve this problem was the complete uninstall and reinstall of the game. Now it works.

Fix the Thargoid combat bonds, the payout is reduced with this update and since you've never mentioned this to us better fix it.
Unless this was a move to make more people quit this game? 🤬

It may seem like a small thing, but I wonder how many other "small things" were fixed in the update that we might not know about. It would be very handy if the teams could pass on all the changes to the CM team so the patch notes reflect what has been updated.
FWIW, I've noticed this for a long time. All updates contain many small fixes that are not mentioned in the patch notes..

Yes they do often, and I try to highlight it when I notice things myself. But it's not always small fixes.
When Odyssey launched you couldn't disembark on a planet's surface if the temperature was above a certain point. However at some point between Update 6 and 8 (inclusive), a change was made to allow you to disembark regardless of the temperature.

That is a huge change for explorers, and one that went completely undocumented.

In defense of the team, they knew immediately and let me know. I personally wasn't aware due to focusing on other projects in the past couple weeks or so.

Thank you for the clarification, Bruce.

My fear was that in the past "Post Update 14 known issues" threads here in the forum, "CQC" did not appear once. In this respect, I would like to see more transparent communication, which has already improved over the past year.

Handing in salvaged black boxes and escape pods at the rescue ships has re-highlighted the broken search and rescue contact UI - you have to back out and re-enter the menu to hand in different types of items.
The linked issue below 50535 looks like the oldest and best report of the problem; I've just added my confirmed but it already had THREE confirmations. It's from before December, so why is it not marked confirmed?!

The acknowledged, and still open, issue is here

I've just been through and marked a bunch of dupes.
Hey, at least she responded kindly after losing patience with the repeat questions. I said I loved the game a while back and it was taken as sarcasm and hammered in every way possible, so I've sincerely seen worse reactions. Just give them time.

@Bruce G this patch seems to have broken the war mechanics in thargoid controlled systems.
Progress in them has come to a screaming halt. Killing large amounts of thargoids, far more than enough to have caused an observable effect before the patch, now apparently gives no contribution towards the war.
As an example HIP 20605 went from 0 to 48% in the 24 hours before the patch but hasn't moved at all since then.
