Because you're doing it wrong. At this moment in time, I am mostly shuttling tritium to my carrier. It is not exciting.
Go shieldless in a T7 in open and bring it from 5 jumps away.

Sounds like fun! With only one 2E cargo rack to add flavour?Because you're doing it wrong.

That third party program you use, does it tell you before hand if it's a new codex without scanning after landing? If so, I might have to try it, might be a big time saver.I used to go by that same rule (Because of you, of course as you're the one that taught me that), but these new and improved Codex payoffs have changed my mind. If it's a possible new Codex entry, I'll fly to the planet and scan it. If it's still marked new Codex, I go get it.
Yes.That third party program you use, does it tell you before hand if it's a new codex without scanning after landing?
I've downloaded some more plugins for Observatory - now, how do I get them to work?Yes.
When you first D-scan it, it will have a blue diamond next to it and tell you that it may be a new codex entry. When you get to the planet and Surface Scan it, if the blue diamond is still there, it's almost always a new codex entry. I've only had it not be once.

Just double click them. They install themselves.I've downloaded some more plugins for Observatory - now, how do I get them to work?
Hmm. Not for me they don't. I'm enquiring over on the MattG thread as I'm obviously missing a trick...Just double click them. They install themselves.
I thought you were one of those hi-powered software engineers.Hmm. Not for me they don't. I'm enquiring over on the MattG thread as I'm obviously missing a trick...
Reading this, I get the impression you did it the old-fashioned way, without a carrier. Is that a Krait Mark II or a Phantom? Cool picture.Quain has just made it to Livingstone Point and landed on the outer most planet in the system. Livingstone Point is the most 'southerly' system in the galaxy you can get to. It took a few FSD injected jumps to get here, although the last jump was less than 16ly. This was the goal of this trip out of the bubble. Quain will slowly make his way back to the bubble after an overnight stay, taking some exobiology samples on the way. There is nothing else particularly special about this system.
The Fleet Carrier is back in the bubble serving the needs of my alt account, who is taking care of any of my player faction BGS activity. My last big exploration trip was with the carrier. This time I wanted old school - just Quain and the Silver Phoenix - a Krait Phantom with something like 650,000ly on the clock.Reading this, I get the impression you did it the old-fashioned way, without a carrier. I actually like the sound of Vulture, feel like driving in a truck lolIf you think the Vulture's engines sound bad, wait until you try a Dolphin - where each time you boost it sounds like someone has put an actual dolphin in a really big food processor.
