Standard Monday burn out has happened so only top 25% get a gift...
Money available now... module for the top 25% that took part will arrive when shipping allows them to arrive as late as Monday the 6th of march with human hand delivery ...

You should use a 7A universal limpet controller. Higher class, replaces your need to bring a separate collector controller, and it has decontamination and research limpets. Downside is the weight, but the Clipper can handle it.
My build: https://edsy.org/s/vZPh6Zq
While the universal limpet controller is great for tissue sampling interceptors due to allowing 8 research limpets to attach at the same time, that trick doesn't work with the caustic generators so it's not really worth it.

Well done CMDR!

I got Top 10% with 35,000t.
Because of this "other game" called Real Life, I wasn't able to dig into this CG like I wanted to. Only got to the top 50%. Skipped Palladium once the supplies dried up so did the catalyzers and heat sink things (switching from one to the other so as to not drain resouces) and was doing pretty well. I was really hoping to plow into the top 10% but, well, maybe next time.

DAMN YOU, REAL LIFE!!!! FOILED AGAIN!!!

If your doodad doesn't work without putting some effort into it well then all the best playing other games. Elite Dangerous was never about having one build to take on anyone else.
No objection to effort: have done many material collection trips, Guardian sites, rank progressions. unlocks, etc. That’s the game!

I just really dislike the synthesis mechanic (it’s lazy and reductive and introduces grind past the initial acquisition of something for no good reason) and if something designed to let you survive in a extreme caustic environments is locked behind being able to go into those same extreme caustic environments … well … that would just seem daft to me!

Yea, now i hate them even more for the weird CG reward distribution
I could have done with 3 caustic sinks from the CG top25%, but not sure i want to waste my time collecting stuff in the malestrom after working my arxe off ferrying like 70k tons

Boooo

(having a deja vu already)

I'm convinced the single unified goal of the whole dev team is to make our game lives miserable.

I can see them LTAO while reading this thread.

personally i will likely just hang fire a bit. quite often stuff releases and give it a month or 2 and will have a balance pass. i have plenty more to go at.

Believe it or not, providing the player with an easier method to skip past difficult scenarios once they've proved they can do it is an extremely common game mechanic.

Unlocking the sinks at a tech broker on a rescue ship doesn't actually let you buy them. I assume there's no stock.
Sure it's a one-time unlock and not a trade-per-module deal?

FWIW, the elusive Caustic Launcher is actually a heat sink (not an experimental module as I thought first) and can be transferred from the CG ship vita Outfitting | Stored Modules. Worked for the one I got from the CG at least. As for the unlock, Idk. Maybe stocks haven't arrived yet, but good to know it's obviously a one time thing. Just can't be bothered to enter the Maelstrom right now ;)

O7,
🙃

Yeah, that makes sense. You can't have modules in your inventory. Go to the outfitting screen at a station and check your stored modules. If you got a module it's probably there.
