Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I'm pretty sure there are people out there who somehow managed to optimize the heck out of this to earn enough money in one month to buy and equip all ships in the game with highest possible grade internals, buy every suit and weapon, buy and equip a fleet carrier with everything available and still have enough money left for upkeep and tritium for an entire year. I doubt this is really fun what they are doing there, but to each their own...
All the uTuber's will have to update their "Roads to riches" video's. I'll admit, some of those other video's were very helpful when I first started playing, others are click bait. And with that being said, I don't consider myself a rookie so much now (there will always be more to learn).

Erm... I had a good, long think about this and I think I could do it. I have the money but I may run out of few mats for ships. It'd be close though.

I couldn't actually bring myself to give a go though :D I wouldn't call it a fun endeavour...

Some WOULD absolutely consider it fun. I get a charge out of being efficient at work when performing manual labor, which isn't often. Its a competition with myself to see if I can doe better than last time.

But in game, I'm very lazy, and I like it that way.

I am, quite frankly, not built to be efficient.
Nowadays, even moreso than back when I was working. I still am able to get something done, if my health allows me to. But only if I avoid any form of stress while working on it.

In game, I am easily distracted from my recent goal by something I find along the way. Like, I go onto a tour through the bubble, visiting some engineers to get another ship built, only to stumble across a ship I would like to have and buying it right away, equipping and remote engineering it, depleting the materials I had collected for the other ship to be "finished"*...
And I tend to find myself unable to do the same thing (like mat collection or mission runs) more than two sessions in a row.

*: As finished as you can get the engineering part if you don't have unlocked all the G5 stuff you would need to get it really done.

That's one thing I admire about Tyres (or any commander), is his ability and desire to do the ground combat and G5 all his suits and weapons, some would say boundless energy and desire for that grind. Ground combat truly is a mega-grind (the equipping part) and you have my admiration because I don't think I'd have the perseverance to G5 all my stuff.

I couldn't have said that any better.

We all play the game differently, in our own ways...

I'm still at it on the 70 bio system - managed to find 31 so far. One of the moons was supposed to have Concha on it but there was no blue for that one whatsoever on either side of the moon.

I've come across another bug with the bios lately as well, that I never used to get - sometimes you get the "Different species will be discarded" message when the last plant you scanned was a complete set of three. Seems to happen only after you've just been back up into orbit and come down again in a different area. (But doesn't ALWAYS happen.)

I've read that in extreme cases the "blue" area can be as small as one pixel, or so...
Yes I wondered about that! I have come across some very tiny blue areas before that were still just visible, but any smaller than that wouldn't be big enough to contain a single plant, never mind a complete set of three with a 150 meter distance requirement as is the case with Conchas. :sneaky:

Kind words, thanks!

I'm not sure about "desire" though - more like "going a bit meta so I can actually survivee" :D I'm a rubbish FPSer and that's the only way I have of standing a chance in on-fppt combat!

What looks tiny from orbit is probably larger than it looks.
Yes absolutely. I did come across the only bit of blue once a while back though, that was still quite small when I got there. I think it was Frutexa or something with a 150m distance req. The area just managed to contain them and it made it easy for me to get the three samples quickly.

Sometimes if a plant is proving hard to find I find it helps to go back into orbit and come down on a very small area of blue for it, so it's easier to find if there, but it doesn't always work as I guess there's an algorithm for a given plant to only spawn sometimes.

So be it, but it's the truth, I took one look at the blueprints required for upgrades to weapons and suits and thought no way, I can't see myself doing it. I love reading about it here in this thread and seeing the screenshots from you and ]M[, but I'm not yet ready myself and don't know if I'll ever be.
Have you started doing any? For me, it was like a drug; once started, very hard to stop and always looking for my next fix

Jusy say no!

And I've just done two more medium CZ's. I really need to step up a bit and do highs. I'll never rank up otherwise and progress in this discipline is even worse than mining tritium...

Concha Aureolas. I've never had these before and a different variety to another much more common Concha that was on a couple of the other moons in this system. Managed to get all three samples at the bottom of this deep ravine that I was just able to land the Asp X in.
