Spring dlc Speculation 2023

because there's debate that it wasn't just an asteroid - that a period of volcanism and climate change had already stressed the animals alive at that time
This is outdated. This hypothesis was based on percieved lower diversity near the end of the cretacous. Since then many new fossil groups were found from that time showing no such reduction in diversity occured, or at least has no strong evidence to support it.

We're clearly travelling in different dino circles. Dinos and other extinct creatures are a great gatecrasher for getting kids (and adults) interested in science and conservation.

I've delivered hundreds of programs on this and don't want to get too off-topic, but the asteroid is interesting because there's debate that it wasn't just an asteroid - that a period of volcanism and climate change had already stressed the animals alive at that time - and then I ask what we could do to avoid a similar event and the answer isn't asteronauts; it's reducing stressors and maintaining a healthy environment and biodiversity.
I would not compare a naturally occuring climate change to the one in modern times that is accelerated by man.

There are still papers on both hypothesis being published so I wouldn't call it outdated, but it is nuanced and probably different populations were more stable than others.

But we're getting away from the subject -

How many avian-dinosaur habitat animals shoukd we expect jn the new dlc?

So what's everyone's take on the update so far? I think it's a little less underwhelming compared to 1.12 on the surface but I'm sure there other things they're hiding under the radar like more colormorphs.

The animals sociability looks so good for me, is a very great addition to the game, and the same for the null path and the climbing thing. Medium update, but very good for me.

I think it's actually really good and includes some needed features like null paths, and the climbing toggle. I don't think the update will be fully realized until people get their hands on it April 4th but I guess you could say that with every free update lol

Very pleased with this update, though we will have to wait and see how the social stuff functions. That part could turn out to be underwhelming but could also turn out great.

JWE pack is out on March 30th and will include this bat like creature 🙂

Pretty solid, we'll have to see how it's implemented in practice.

If we're talking about hints, there will probably be a climbing animal and/or an animal that lives in social groups...and that's about all I can gleam.

There is a Planet zoo Bingo for those that are interested.

a little less than 100 minutes right? Of course, it won't reveal the actual pack -probably, you never know they have been switching things up! I wonder what the hint(s) will be. I wonder if it'll just be one animal or several? Didn't we have several hints the last few livestreams? I only recall back as far as Europe as things go.

Y'all should prepare some pitchforks and torches for the following:

What if they give us a pack featuring
  • Mexican wolf
  • Northern white rhinoceros
  • Aardwolf
  • Great white pelican
  • Paper kite butterfly (WE)
And then they announce it's the last DLC
