What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

Wow, that looks super cool. You know, I never think to use the vending machines. Are those worth it compared to the kiosks and stands?
Thank you very much!
I can't exactly answer this question. They cost less and don't need vendors, but need mechanics to repair. I don't use them often either. Sometimes I use them more for decoration or if I don't want to hire more vendors and make a work area for them. The vendors need a break room, but sometimes there's no place to put it and it's not needed if I don't want/can't make a big food cord.
I hope I was able to convey the idea clearly 🙈😅

Well, if you build in tropical climate and don't want to have stands every few steps because it's too hot for the guests, then vending machines are a good thing.
Sounds good to me. Can't have my guests fainting from the heat in my walkthrough enclosures...
Thank you very much!

So, kinda mix both, then? I should totally use them. That way I can build more dynamic zoo layouts

Working on the next habitat for the Lynx

Just had to edit to add this little gem...complain about missing benches...while walking past one or a table every 5m. Best guests ever 😶

A-ha-hall-righty then, y'all. Unfortunately, no pics (low internet where I'm at, so I won't be able to upload)...

I'm building a zoo set in Santa Fe, Argentina; Zoo Santa Fe...

You walk in and are greeted by red deer and European fallow deer.
Right in front of them is a butterfly garden where local, wild species arrive (cloudless sulfur butterflies)...
Next to the garden is a seating area and a little further 2 food trucks: fries and smoothies...

You go to the right (or left, if you walk in the entrance) and you see a large building with an external bathroom. You go inside the building and see 2 enclosures: Asian water monitors and Komodo dragons, a pair of each...

After you exit, right across from the monitor building is the dhole habitat, with a pair of dholes living the best life the red dog can possibly have...

And across from the dholes, built alongside the monitor building, is a trio of water buffalo in their glory...

Next up, it will do some babirusas and then, finally, lar gibbons...

Espero que vosotros hayan disfrutado de estas noticias. Las Islas Misteriosas ya casi se han terminado...

After the Mysterious Islands section is done, I will open the Great Red Island section (la Gran Isla Roja), which will feature the 3 lemur species in the game and fossas

Made some progress over the easter weekend.

My camels now have grass in their enclosure and a new fence (YES! I deleated the old one and made a new, I'm crazy with the fences...I knew)

Then I build an enclosure for the horses. They are part of a rewilding project in east europe. This is also the reason why the fence is double secured. These are not "tame" zoo animals. I once saw a documentary about a horse release center that had a similar fence. I want to build a third enclosure, shielded from the guests.

Then I built an enclosure for lynxes. Here, too, there are further enclosures in the background for a breeding program and later for release into the wild. Since I live near the Harz Mountains myselfe (a German low mountain range - the northernmost and also the smallest, I think), my lynxes are of course released into the wild in the Harz National Park. (this project -> https://www.luchsprojekt-harz.de/ , if you are intrested)

I think the idea of "supporting" 2 European species protection programs is actually quite nice - well, digitally.

Then I started a new area. The Africa area. It's on the other side of the country road. I will start with the African desert/savannah, then build a Madagascar house and then move on to Tropical Africa on the side. A lot to do! Here the beginnings.

I don't have much time to play this weekend, I have visitors and the EUIC is also what I want to see

Daaamn. Whenever I build something in the game that I think turned out quite good, all it takes to lose that confidence is to take a look at the images all of you post in this thread. All your creations are creative and so well done!
That gibbon dome in particular is insane @minhthangh97. (I mean that as a compliment, of course! Really love it.)
I always feel like I have quite a good hand when it comes to rock & foliage work, but my buildings are often so uninteresting to look at that I'll just flat out hide them – like in this one-off Red River Hog habitat that I just finally built when I got a chance to play around with the new pack 😅

Just going with the flow here. I won't even talk about the new zoo(s), as I'll probably abondon them anyway down the line. 😅 But I figured it's better than not playing at all and I'm enjoying myself.

Ohhh i really like this one, i hope you stick with it it looks really promising!
Especally the trash panda (?) Habitat looks great with that nice little climbing frame, good stuff
I 3specally like the 3. Picture, these 2 gabitats flow really well into each other and it looks great

Adding a stable for my future Red Deer habitat, using candles for the gates :ROFLMAO:

Those sliding doors are chefs kiss, i love em

You say that when that habitat looks absolutly stunning!
Who cares when the buildings are underwhelming, if you hide them well like this it only adds to the immersion + its allways nice to see different building styles emerge from different skill sets.
Also id love to see a shot from the visitor angle, im sure its a beautiful view!

Yep, raccoons in there. The climbing frame is an altered blue print though, so I can't take full credit for it!
Thank you for the compliments! I'm really enjoying this project so far, also. I need others on the side for bigger budget animals, though, but I admit it's a little easier for me to build low budget "Tierparks". Which is funny, because IRL I prefer big zoos.

I've built another entrance to my Asian area to have a better and direct connection between the African and Asian area. I have used the new pieces from the tropical pack although I cheated and used one of the blueprint and just colored it differently and removed all the plants.

Just behind the main Asian gate, I've built the entrance to the first section called Indonesian Islands.

The first habitat in this section will belong to the lar gibbons and I already started the habitat but I won't show pictures yet, just want to work a little bit more on it.

I have to agree, especially since I have a 2gb graphics card, so I can't even enjoy the textures 😭...

Anyways, here's progress on my zoo: Zoo Santa Fe:

Playing with lowest settings for a smooth experience, but I wish for better graphics...

Part 2 coming up:

I had to halt expansion on my India segment after I realized that nearly half of my 1.6 million warchest had disappeared over a few years.
Slowly having to increase the food prices and mono rail prices to try and compensate before resorting to cutting staff. Without most of those vendors, entire areas don't get covered. The troubles of trying to build a zoo with every animal in the game. What you can barely see is the Monorail that stretches from the Camel-Horse exhibit all the way across to the Sea Lions. Had to additional Zoo entrances for my South America (Top right) and my India (middle left) areas since most guests never reach either end. Lazy guests.

The ultimate example why a net approach beats a line.
Building compact and efficent helps both real and especally planet zoo guests to stay engaged, walk distances short and to fullfill all their needs, which also helps to not have to put facilitys everywhere.
Still impressive to see such a dedication to the line
