What did you do in Planet Zoo today?

I work on new Southeast Asia Franchise zoo. I will post screenshots later, but so far I only have Indian Peafowls and Lar Gibbons. I tried to buy black coat Gibbon but they are so expensive and I only have 1000 CC. I want also white Bengal Tiger but I also do not have enough CC for it.:-(

I spent all my CC on two Striped Hyenas for the new community challenge that start today. They were like 3000CC each! Very crazy what people price them and not even good stats.

I created two cages, one for my least favorite animals and one for my favorite animals, and they all live happy together, because I pull some buttons that ended their negative emotions and killing instincts, my giant anteater is sleeping next to my Siberian tiger and it looks glorious! So cute when it started to rain and all these random animals will shelter together.

I finished the area surrounding my tortoise habitat, which includes my Rhubarb forest.

It's not much to look at just yet, but I opened up new Franchise Zoo Del Sur today. Sadly, the staff island did not turn out as I wanted it to, despite trying to meticulously make a circle. However, it's passable for now. My first animals, the Sloth -for which I'm using as the entryway into the zoo, once I've created the entrance building - and the Capybara. Both animal's spaces will get decked out in foliage, but I wanted to get to getting the Capybaras in so I could make some money .

I think this will mostly be a South American species zoo, with my handful "international" animals I sometimes put in regional based zoos. But not just yet. I'll probably go with the Giant Anteater next, once my funds are stable

ugh. That non-circle. I'm so disappointed in myself. Sometimes I think I've come a long way building and then something like this happens.

Finished the main visitor center for Kodiak Park. Took me about a week of fiddling with different ideas until I got to something I can halfway tolerate. Will probably revisit it to add some details sometime in the future. The stairs lead to the sky bridge, which will surround the perimeter of the zoo and allow guests to look down into the habitats. Next is adding in the reindeer habitat.

Been working on my new tropical zoo. It has an entrance in the centre of the map underground which is supposed to simulate an underground train network. This let's it make a bit more sense why the zoo is the middle tropical mountains.

Anyway the central entry area us gonna be botanical garden where I'll include a fossa and peacock habitat. I wanna add 1 more to the entry circle and I wanted to know if anyone had some suggestions for what animal I should do. Take into account, no primates or reptiles as I already have stuff planned for them in the zoo.

I haven't actually done anything, but I just wanted to say that today is THE perfect day for some PZ this afternoon.
It'll be great to relax my sore body a bit instead of lifting a ladder🤣

My plan today is to finish Zoo Santa Fe by adding a small Madagascar area and finishing the Japanese garden

I added some decorations to my “Feline in China” house, the animal inhabitants are leopard, snow leopard, lynx.85% completion
I have built a new subsidiary exhibition area. Considering the sensitivity of felines, I used an aerial passage to link this new exhibition area with a breeding house that tourists cannot enter. I'm considering whether this area should be used as an area for the original three cats, or new cats (such as Pallas's Cat, Clouded leopard, Asian golden cat, etc.).

Changes are afoot at Stringybark Zoo, largely because I've finally started using mods! I've been following the modding scene for years and always planned on waiting until PZ finished development before actually using them myself, but yesterday I finally bit the bullet and decided I might as well start now. I have pretty high standards for mods, they must integrate into the game fairly seamlessly and generally be close to Frontier quality - still no Tasmanian devil for example, which is an animal that's far too unique for mods to replicate effectively - but that still left a lot of options for species I've always wanted to have in my zoos but felt had little chance of ever being added. Such is the case for the species in the latest two habitats I've built for Stringybark Zoo.

For these showcases all modded animals have been removed for obvious reasons.

First is an extension of the previously completed Temperate Australia area, a small enclave for Australian sea lions! This is a rarely kept species even in Australian zoos, with only Taronga and Adelaide holding them at the moment (they're also at three Australian aquariums/marine parks), but given I grew up seeing them at Adelaide Zoo they've always felt like the basic zoo pinniped from my skewed perspective. This habitat houses four individuals, and has its own little distinct environment themed around the temperate coast of southern Australia.

Back over in South-east Asia, I built what is probably my favourite ungulate habitat in the zoo so far, a mixed species enclosure for the chital and banteng! I originally threw the banteng in with the water buffalo over in the Floodplains before realising they'd make a great excuse for integrating some hoofstock into the South-east Asia area. I put small fencing around the bamboo in the enclosure to protect it from browsing/trampling, which is probably something I should start doing more in the future - with this zoo I've generally decided to not pay too much attention to realism in regards to foliage and just focus on building habitats I'm happy with, but it's definitely going to be something I'm going to take into consideration with other projects going forward.

I also realise that with the Indian peafowl and chital this is starting to become more of a general tropical Asia section than a South-east Asia area lol.

As you may have noticed in the habitat images above, I've also made custom infoboards for each of the 28 species in Stringybark Zoo, something I've been meaning to do for a while. Each section of the park has its own colour template for the infoboard, although currently given South America, Temperate Australia and South-east Asia all share various shades of green its a bit hard to tell the difference. I may recolour the Temperate Australia infoboards to make them all feel more distinct.

As for what's next, it'll probably be either the sun bear habitat (followed by the Sumatran tiger) or a yellow-footed rock-wallaby x red kangaroo mixed enclosure to start off the Drylands area, depending on what I feel like.
