Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

Hmmm… a mining ship that can run on auto? :)

Y’know, i’ve always wondered why my bot can’t go out and usefully mine some Tritium while i’m out hunting exobio samples (instead she apparently sips RDX in the FC bar, while still earning a cut of everything i do ;p) - sounds like a good balance between being able to experience gameplay immersively at first, but then being able to hand-off repetitive tasks?

That does sound nice. Very nice. :giggle:
I like that idea.

I'm always happy to find a CZ that's in daylight, as mostly they seem to be at night. This one is particularly good as it also has plenty of green medical "vital signs" boxes, crates of bullets, suit recharging sockets and grenade boxes as well. In some CZs any or all of those can be harder to find than in others.

I agree - nice to find a CZ in daylight. Mind you, it's quite nice to find any ground mission in daylight as so many seem to be on the planet's dark side.

Yes, although you do have to set it up just right, and at the beginning you don't have any experienced crew so they take forever to do anything and can't travel out of a single sector. Eventually they become experts and you can just let them do their thing and make you lots of money. At least until some roving alien ship decides to attack and blow them up :p

I have quite a few games on Steam, though one in particular does tend to dominate this list... ;]
I'm now tempted to give No Man's Sky a go even though I've been put off by certain aspects like the visual style, and I'm intrigued by Cyberpunk as a GTA fan. Though I've still yet to play Liberty City. I've played the intro and don't like GTA online so I might go back to that first.

Cyberpunk is one of my favorites. It's a unique experience. The hacking gameplay is great, and you can think your way through most of the missions. Stealth is excellent. Graphics and animation/voice acting are top notch.

No Man's Sky is very good, as long as you don't expect your ship to fly like a spaceship. There's a lot to see and do in the game, although it does get a tad cartoonish graphically. It's worth playing.

It is excellent imho too - that though is perhaps because i only got it more than a year after launch, after it was substantially more stable / fixed up… i’ve been taking it slowly, dipping in and really enjoying it from time to time - only about half way with the main storyline still - i enjoy just riding about Night City on a bike aimlessly at times as the visuals are so good and there is much to explore…

It’s a really lovely non-serious space game - yep the visuals are quite stylized and sometimes seem a bit more “Disney” than the era of SciFi airbrush art that is their intention, but it is amazing to see just how much a relatively tiny game developer has managed to achieve… lots of fun really :]

I've decided I like the Dolphin more than enough to do at least the 5000ly each way trip to unlock Prof Palin for this alt account with it. The jury is still out on whether the Dolphin covered to 800+ly to the Guardian Ruins faster than the DBX, but there will have been several extra jumps for the Dolphin to do. Fuel scooping is quite fun when you can hug the star close and charge the FSD at the same time. It's kind of OP in the same way the Anaconda's unrealistically low mass hull is OP.
I'm starting to think that if only the Dolphin could match the Phantom for jump range....
In prep for the 5000ly trip I want the Guardian FSD booster. With just 152 MJ shields and a top mounted point defence, the Dolphin handles the Guardian Ruins like a boss. Easily as well as the DBX and AspX.
I haven't painted the little fish yet as it works so well in white.
