I was young when they were sold in the United States. I think it was around 1979 - 80. I remember the commercial: "Triumph - the shape of things to come". And the shape was a door wedge triangle. The car faded into it underneath the Triumph logo.
I walked passed a yellow one on my way to primary school every day for what seemed like an eternity in the early 80s’ at a Triumph showroom, it was my dream car at the time. My Uncle bought one a few years back to do up as a ‘project’ and keeps trying to persuade me the fact it redlines at 9000rpm make it an ‘interesting’ car…all I know is there’s a damn
good reason Triumph fell by the wayside.
Not sure what this has to do with Elite Dangerous, if anything, but I can’t let a pic of a car that sums up much of my UK childhood (unemployment, recession, oil crisis, 3 day working weeks, shoddy workmanship, overpowering Unionisation and power cuts) go by without a reminiscing comment
….and I was bought up a Labour voter before any thinks I’m a dyed in the wool Tory.
