Elite Dangerous Update 15 NOW LIVE - Release Notes

The Android Steam app has the ability (for some games) to initiate a remote update; assuming your computer with the game is up and running and logged into Steam. Of the 4 updates I had this morning (Stellaris, Beat Saber, Destiny 2 and Elite Dangerous) the only one I couldn't start the update from my phone was of course ED.

Since I think this is a relatively unknown function is there some box that Frontier needs to check or bit needs to be flipped on the server to allow this functionality? Given the size of the updates lately this would be a nice feature to have the game ready to go when people got home and might help to smooth out the server download spikes.

Last push to it - add landing pads' sizes to the map for Ody settlements. There is no way to know it from map yet. 2 years later.
While i know it's not the same i hope you know you can see landing pad sizes in the navigation panel when selecting a settlement.
What do you mean by completely?
I did right click, then "Exit", I think it's enough to exit Steam.
Steam can be quite slow to update sometimes after a patch.

Ironically I was actually right- where do you think those Interceptors go and come from?
couldn't help but thinking of the "Rollercoaster of doom" that everyone wants to get away from once they get on and then add thargoids to that, just

Sally, could You, please, eventually show these longstanding issues to the dev team, as they are still not fixed till now (very annoying errors I must admit)...
They are as follows (see all screens):

PS
More issues, pls check...

Hmm...

So my first attempt at a restore went Very Badly Indeed.

I'm not sure if this is by design or whether the whole thing needs a tweak.

  1. Hyperdicted twice on the single jump to the system
  2. Interdicted twice en route to the planet - neither interdiction could be evaded so it was a case of take damage and boost until waking again
  3. Reached the settlement but my ship was attacked before it could land
  4. The attacks knocked out my systems completely
  5. Rebuy screen

I'll admit that this was going into it "blind" so to speak so I have much to learn but... should it really be that difficult to even reach the mission base?

Where is that key feature overhaul from early 23? Ah I forgot... Frontier said something and did nothing like allways
Ah, you missed the news... They already stated that was postponed, and there would be more news near the end of the year..

Is it expected behavior that with U15 I cannot disembark on my own carrier? Have small 300Cr bounties, which I have no idea how to pay being in Soul Sector EL-Y d7 without risk to be sent back to the Bubble. Tried to switch ship and log out to menu - didn't help.

UPD: it seems it unlocked after carrier jumped out of that system

Greetings Commanders.

It's Tuesday, May 9.
What's 9 + Tuesday? That's right, Update 15, and it's arriving today.

Headline Notes:

  • A new mission to restore power to settlements and retrieve data from within Thargoid-controlled territory has been added.
    • This new mission can be found at mission boards in systems in the Alert or Invasion states.
  • The Thargoid Pulse Neutraliser module has been added to Outfitting and Tech Broker at all rescue ships

Have not been online for a few weeks but after reading the notes for the latest patch I thought I would take a look at the latest developments.
So far the main disappointment is the Thargoid Pulse Neutraliser, cannot find any rescue ship with this for sale in Outfitting and could not believe that Tech Brokers will only provide if you supply items (GRIND!)
Really we are in the middle of a war (apparently) and we are expected to grind materials instead of buying, now that I find amazing (Sorry Commander I missed the fight due to grinding mats).
Have also been trying to find Alert or Invasion systems with missions boards that have Restore power to settlements missions, so far not one.
Still searching for missions.

Not sure how it went for others, but I'm amazed by Update 15. Flawless download, no issues while PLAYING ON THE UPDATE DAY, and visiting the maelstrom interior for the first time was absolutely amazing. No new bugs spotted, some fixes noticed, all in all: great job!

Thanks, fdev! 🍻

2. is by design: it is their system now after all. (not so sure about #1 tho ;) )
3. Using a cold and fast ship is paramount for any type of success.

I've been exploring the abandoned settlements for a couple of weeks now and have found some...interesting things.

... not thought about some prepartions in advance? Those new missions are right into centre of ongoing invasion. My advice is to build small fast ship (like for example I.Courier) with decent shields and some hull, land quickly 1-1,5 km from settlement, deploy SRV (Scorpion seems is better choice), dismiss your ship, and move closer. To be on safe side leave SRV 800-900 m from settlement ideally hidden behind some terrain obstacle and continue on foot, rest is up to you. I may only add that starting fight is not the best idea unless you are good with it (or you are going in group) and well prepared. Revenants are quite tough and nimble opponents.

Farming materials to get a new item is very common behaviour in all MMOs. You don't need them to fight the war, they're only for getting to the centre of the Maelstrom.

The missions can be picked up from stations in Invasion systems, but they are in the Operations section.

How do we find the new Thargoid restore power missions? The patch notes says 'mission boards in systems in the Alert or Invasion states', so I've tried Garongxians and Wolf 121 (both are Alert systems). The stations there do not allow me to Disembark. The Odyssey settlements are offering missions, but not the new one.
