Well, I'm guessing you're okay if the game becomes more of what other people want* over time, since the longevity of the game depends on the popularity of the game - as in, it needs to make money for Frontier, a burden you alone cannot carry. Again, this doesn't mean you can't defend it, but I fail to see the harm in allowing others to request features or even vent about a bug that bothers them. We both agree that the fleet carrier "fix" to the system map in this update is wonderful, and I'll argue that it might not have happened if players weren't allowed to gripe about the previous state of the system map in busy systems full of fleet carriers. You yourself said, "for ME it keeps getting better and better." Surely this is in part due to people not accepting Odyssey of last year, but instead requesting (albeit sometimes in "gripe format") the improvements that have since came, including this update that everyone loves so much. If we all just said, "It's exactly what I want right now, no need to add or change anything!" would Frontier continue to pump out these updates? Maybe, but maybe not.
* with the caveat that it still stays Elite and isn't completely morphed into some other game.
