Apparently they were available to purchase for Credits, rather than materials. I really hope this will be the case after the CG is done as well. If all the people that exploited the bug will also have those new scanners for Credits, rather than mats - while the rest of us honest Commanders will have to grind for mats to get them, I will be very upset.

IF so, then even moreso they should remove the PWXS from the commander's module storage / ships or replace them with heat sinks for example (if removal of an already fit equipment may raise concerns) :)

Let's just hope the forum-outraged don't stay distracted by this and let the CG fail so that only the 'early birds' end up with the module. That would be sad

How many times in this game we don't know what is bug and what is feature? And why, in this particular case, I should be sure that this is a bug? And why I should not buy it, when it's legally offered? And now in the end, many of you would not only remove this module from commander's inventory, but would also be glad if this cmdrs are punished somehow.
In other words, you would punish the players for FDev mistakes! Because The Gods cannot be wrong. Typical submissive thinking.

I think that is a poor line of arguments. There is a CG running for it, and it is the core of the current narrative to explore the Titans. Don't try this "how can I know it is a bug" thing, that is just playing coy. It is like seeing a granny drop her wallet and picking it up, keeping it and then saying "how can I know she didn't want me to have all her money?".

FWIW - although I do think the module should have been taken away again (and by all means credits refunded) I certainly don't think the players should be punished ... but nor do I think they should be rewarded for their opportunism by early access to the module (even earlier than those slogging their guts out to hit top 25% at the CG) or for the ability to get it for mere credits if it does indeed turn out to be a material unlock for the rest of us.

I don't understand why they immediately removed PWXS from the markets, and why CM Sally wrote "unfortunate early release". For whom it is unfortunate? For players? I don't think so. How many times CG rewards have been delayed? Many times. Sometimes we waited a day, two, or more. So, it would be fair, at least once, to give it earlier. It's not the end of the Universe. To make players happy, only a little bit - is it really "unfortunate"?
Because it is reward for completing CG.
Stop moaning with logic "they were delayed, so now gimme them earlier".

Just a little repost of some useful stuff.
This is concerning this CG but could be applied on any CG event, if set correctly.

How about FDevs Stop doing nonsense with % they cannot bother to manage and just do a deliver limit to get CG stuff rewards?

Like for this event it could be as follows :
Reward Level
Reward
Threshold
Tier 6, Top 10 CMDRs
Massive cash reward & bonus (naming/tag/skin etc...)10 best CMDRs
Top 10 CMDRs Tier 5
1 Pulse Wave Xeno Scanner8000
Top 10% Tier 4
1 Pulse Wave Xeno Scanner OR Cash++++4000
Top 25% Tier 3
Cash+++2000
Top 50% Tier 2
Cash++1000
Top 75% Tier 1
Cash+250
Top 100% Base Reward
Basic Cash1

Reward being as usual Cumulative, with 8000 units delivered, you could get multiple Pulse Wave Xeno Scanner.
Threshold here is an example, but seems fair enough delivery events like this one.

Just remove this % nonsense that just make most of the community not even bothering participate as this will be just dumb relog "official" mechanics ... (and please don't tell me 4000 player is the whole community 😑)

more cynically, if they're not taking them away, there's nothing crazy- new gated behind them.

You know what? I would like to end this argument, because I am not sure (but we will never know) that this was not done on purpose. Put PWXS on sale for only about 12 hours, in unknown planetary ports, so that only a minority of players can buy it, and then withdraw it from sale but leave it to those who bought it. Isn't that a dirty game? If they wanted to play fair, they could have said - "due to the urgency of the war, in order not to distract the cmdrs from their war activities, Aegis decided to immediately stop this CG, and release PWXS for sale to everyone, because there is already enough material for mass production anyway." Because CG is not a sacred cow, and it can be abandoned. But this way, as Frontier carried it out, it looks to me like a new manipulation, to divide and fight the players, to spice things up a bit. Let's see how we will react.

Mistakes were made...
I more worried by the fact that apparently they were sold on credits... and there is a chance (hopefully NOT tho) they will sell for materials after CG - that would be extremely extremely annoying

Ofc you do the CG in solo if your main goal is to participate in the CG and not play the hare and the wolf game with the pirates and/or gankers.
That's why solo and pg modes are in the game, to be used at will

To quote Sally ..

We were made aware yesterday evening of early acquisition of the 'Pulse Wave Xeno Scanner' by a number of Commanders, following an unfortunate early release of the module.

Seems fairly clear it was a mistake. Or is this one of those "but they would say that" kind of deals that you're suggesting?
