That's very disingenuous. Obviously that also depends on the roadmap itself.
Just the other day, another developer released a roadmap which was loved by pretty much the whole community of that game, so that is possible.
But sure, go ahead and put all the blame on the players again if you think that's best.

if its a developer known for adhering and fulfilling the roadmap then its great. im happy for them. but this is elite...
playerbase bullying devs (artists, actors, ...) is totally not a thing. never happened.
I'm glad there still is active development for the game at all, and one update in August and another one in December or so definitely is more than we could hope for a year ago or so. Nobody expected things like the Titans, Glaives, Orthri or the entire Thargoid war anymore, I'm fairly sure. They even hired new developers, add features and the story continues. What else to ask for? Sunset?

But this is not a reason why Frontier couldn't release a roadmap. The reason they can't is because they (most likely) couldn't stick to it and because the roadmap would be mostly void of content due to the current development pace.
there is literaly link in my post to the topic where author is incredibly offended by being handed spoilers about next update. and while i was not referring to any particular instance, there are a couple of those in these forums too.

I think the questions are, why are they harvesting escape pods? What could the by using them for? I think the mention of the Thargoid sequence above the settlement provided some clues...
But anyway, I guess I'll finished by saying that a steak is just a cooked cut of beef with some salt, pepper and garlic added. Sounds kinda boring to me.
Nothing arbitrary about it; a link was even put forth and if i am not mistaken you have also seen the things flung at fdev and the devs over the years.

This is freewheeling, but could it be that the devs have a hidden meter for thargoid mats collection and when full they get an upgrade?
Seeing how FDev reskinned skimmers to make them into Tharg drones, I am hoping the abduction of escape pods means we might see FDev reskin NPCs to look like Tharg zombie footsoldiers. That could be an interesting development and might succeed in getting me interested in the current narrative.
