Game Discussions Star Citizen Discussion Thread v12

In 2.0 all we had was PO, The old Crusader which persisted until this landable version, its Moons Celin, Yela and Daymar, none of which you could land on.

The first landable moon that had a city of sorts was actually Delemar, the moon that's from and now back in Nyx, that was 3.0, along with the 3 now landable Crusader moons.

3.0 is where it changed from the original pitch to this new one, 2.0 was the original game. That's why people say development on this game started in 2017.
I had cashed out by the end of 2.63...didn't buy back in until just before the 3.3 patch, which was supposed to be Q3 2018 but got delayed until November.

It's just so funny how PO, as the oldest hub, is held up as one of the most functional and pleasingly laid out locations.

And now it's going to be de-improved ;)

As i said before PO is very small, it has no hangers, no cargo deck, no refinery, no docking ports, no food or shopping area, all it had was a place to spawn, a place for the ASOP's, a few small shops and some landing pads.

It had 4 self contained section's duplicating that, Strut A, B, C and D.

To accommodate all that the new space stations have they are very much larger, they are far too big to move around in without elevators, you see if you spawn your ship it might be in a hanger that's 5KM away from the ASOP's, the refinery might be 10 KM away from your hanger, that's 2X the distance as PO is long, its why they have elevators, its those elevators that people find a pain, but they are necessary.

Its only because PO is so small it doesn't need them, but that also makes PO too small to have anything to make it a destination, cargoing, refining ecte... its also too small to accommodate the VAST ships that are coming online, like the Hull-C.
So its got to go.

Some fun gossip in the comments...

I've been to a Bar Citizen in Frankfurt in 2016 or 2017 and talked to Brian Chambers about Modding/API because I was developing a VoiceAttack profile a that time. In that regard, it would have been much easier if the game would have given some feedback about it's state, for example if a ship has been landed or not. Brian's answer surprised me because he said that they had never thought about an API for modders. It seems that SC is in a permanent state of pile of crap, but I still have love for the project.

FWIW the audio team would also like the game to give them reliable feedback, going by their vids ;)

(Also everyone in Mike's threads calls me Galgot now 😁)

I'm just kicking at their heels as they make bank though. This post from Mike's thread sums it up pretty nicely ;)

Some guy said:
These videos are going to get played in the courtroom during the next class action lawsuit.
Same guy said:
Mate, I'm a Grand Admiral funder. I know we're all in suckers. None of us would have the gall. I got a kracken I wanna play. I just think this dude has their number.

The game is kinda being undeveloped. Olisar was more like a traditional space game port than their weird truck stops full of modular stores or the sprawling golf courses with space whales that take an hour to leave. The planets now look like garbage and have worse tiling and texturing issues than Odyssey which is an impressive feat. The graphics have lost contrast and objects at a distance like Olisar now look like a blurry mess due to some fumbled attempt at LoD, and texture detail on environments is down. Lorville is now some sort of futuristic Vegas strip rather than the industrial hell that fit the theme. The early versions of the game looked better other than for the motion blur and CA.
