Newcomer / Intro What are you up to?

I wonder what tool this is you use there...
It's the travel map from EDSM site. If you're signed up there and sending all your data there, you can then view that map

EDDiscovery also has one, similar.

It reads your journals and displays a map of everywhere you've been, quite easily.

EDSM? I see.

The resolution of EDDiscovery's map sadly is too low to show much more than a tiny, pixeled, spiky blob for my travels... Near impossible to find any location or route, even fully zoomed in. I haven't gone far, yet, I know. Bubblin' about...
Well you gotta zoom in! And/or set the date range. It's a bit janky.

Here's just the bubble for me. I've been flying around it for years and years lol.

Seems i might be in a fairly boring part of the galaxy atm, @least in terms of exobiology diversity - then again, occasionally one lucks upon a nice snack... more virgin Tectonicas ftw for Tritium supplies next i'm back near "civilisation" - the Vista desk remain aloof & unimpressed though ;p

My gane hangs on a black screen perhaps a couple of times a week lately, and does not exit. Perhaps half the time, it hangs a little bit obnoxiously long on the black screen then closes ok.

That's a 0.04G pole squat, for the record.

I love those knee cap doodads

I actually ponied a chunk of my ARX up for Penny to buy a couple of pairs of space britches recently

Lovely! On my way, Co[M]issioner Gordon!

I guess I could get my own copper colored signal with a bust of Abe Lincoln so I know whether it's a bat-signal or a penny-signal, and wear the right gitup.

Now I just nearly choked out in my helmet horsing around up there in the external camera. And I am thankful for the Apex shuttle's life support system.
Rupee, you used to be the ultimate gyppo tour guide, what happened? Why did you give it up?

Gosh.

I took at look at this video for Starfield. Looks amazing although I do wonder two things: system requirements and a relatively small "world" as mentioned in the comments.

I’m getting more & more interested - it does look amazing, and a taste for gorgeous visuals & at-least-good story is what brought me to adventures originally, after arcade games - and to Elite after years of sociable arena fps…

…that said I doubt the worlds we’re seeing in preview have anything near the breadth of Elite’s procedural galaxy, or the detail of individual planets/moons’ terrain generation…

…still a 1000+ sounds like quite a lot to explore, even if it is prebuilt - and what we’ve seen in preview looks pretty awesome - if the gameplay’s half decent I may be in there for quite a while :]

It's freakin' Skyrim in space! It's the only game in years I've pre-ordered.

I will definitely be playing it, and modding it, for a long time to come :)

Heck I still play Skyrim itself. And the Fallouts.

I guess that's the trade off, right. Lush planets with complete ecosystems or a bigger galaxy, Bethesda is a pretty good company and I think they bought out ID software and now own Quake (my all time favorite), I have terabytes of extra maps for Quake (freeztag).
