Pretty good - not sure about the forests or the fauna :D So maybe those wanting daily updates could just use ChatGPT and save David the effort of doing a cut&paste himself?

I think the point was that the CM's are now locking threads for no responses on a every day basis . This is a new thing which I sadly dislike .
But this is the new and improved communication which we were promised time and time again . The forum's are less used and I believe that that was the idea . Losing most of the team to more profitable games is a fact of life and I don't think Sally could have done any more with the engagement .

They have been in the past, nothing new there. These aren't threads that are being locked, these are informative posts that the CM's consider better discussed on the actual user forum father than the admin news forum so as not to have multiple threads running simultaneously which has happened in past. You get posters posting about it in the informative post, you get users making threads in the user forum section, you get people cross posting in both threads at the same time that just leads to confusion.

They don't want you to comment on those informational posts, they want you to discuss it in the appropriate place in the user forum where it belongs.

Why do you lock most information threads now?

With the volume of conversation, opinion and questioning that posts like these are capable of generating - some on topic, some off topic - it can be really difficult to ensure that you are kept mindfully responded to and feeling engaged with us in the flurry, as well as filtering action points from amidst it all.
  • The aim of these posts is to inform you at the time with information we immediately have.
  • It's in no way a choice to silence your thoughts regarding the post, please do continue to share your thoughts in your own threads within the Forum as these are still monitored.

Well I don't see anything in that response saying it was a recent change, the recent change is indeed implied by the questioners phrasing but the reply doesn't actually address that the behavior was changed recently. You are drawing an inference from the poster of the question and then applying that to FDEV's response, which isn't actually contained in the response. I am not sure how long ago the change happened, but I certainly remember seeing some informational posts being locked quite a while ago.

I would have to do some research to see how far back the behavior goes, but really I don't care enough, the fact is they want us to discuss things in the discussion forum and not the news forum, not a problem.

May was when the locked threads started not even a page back on the staff posts . Before that it was quite lively and fun and interactive and a nice community . Now it's like a bar on a Sunday in the outer Hebrides..

So you aren't allowed to discuss the information posts on other parts of the forum?

I am not a liberty to answer that but when a post before may came up we would have many posters agreeing or disagreeing and now there is a apathy what's the point ? Fdev aren't interested sort of mindset . I still think it's a shame .
