What's Behind your Username?

That time when I joined Discord for first time, I was looking for an username for my Discord account. Then I found this name, I find this name pretty cool and used this username for years on games and online platforms as my username.

This is a silly little community building exercise, but we all have a username here that's our very own. But, why did you choose that name? Does it mean anything? Is it something significant in your life? Does it mean anything in your native tongue?
I like this idea! It's different from what we are used to do here.

So as a lot of people my username is simple to explain. Tinou is a "cute" nickname that my family gave me when I was really young. Some of my friend call me Sheldon (Big Bang Theory) but I don't find the nickname particularly flattering, even though I love the character in the show. So I chose to go with Tinou :')

And 97 is simply the year I was born.

Does Tinou translate to anything in another language?

I don't know tbh. My name is Antoine (I live in the French part of Belgium) and it's not an easy name to find a nickname for. I guess they thought Tinou was the best idea. In any case, it means nothing in French.
Could be that tinou is a kind of play on words on the popular nickname of Tony, which is often the case for names like antoine, Anthony.

Why Orque41 It's my favorite animal. And also because I already have Orque 41 in other things like Twitter and Youtube and I didn't trust on some forums. Except this one because it's a wonderful team. And 41 is my birthday on January 4th

here’s my story
A recurring nickname of mine is Spyder Tim, from a spyder hat that I frequently wear that has brought me popularity and became my stage name. Spyder is a ski/snowboard cold weather company from Colorado.
The hawk in my picture is the hawk I worked with while I was an apprentice falconer, currently on hiatus.
I decided to merge my nickname with my passion for hawks.

Which one? Ashnak is from Mary Gentle's Grunts. Commander-in-chief (unless degraded) of the united orc forces of the dark hordes. He's not necessarily a good guy (comes with the job - he likes the witnesses for his war crimes rare with garlic). Azzie Elbub (my other Cmdr in Elite Dangerous) is from Robert Sheckley's Bring me the head of Prince Charming. One of hell's finest demons (or at least that's the official reason why he was selected to create Evil's contribution in the millenial contest with Good), slightly hampered by Hell's bureaucratic(sp?) process.

micmacmoc taken from Julian Cope’s song (mikmakmok) but i studied typography and liked the lower ‘c’ rather than the ‘k’ for balance.
English eccentric Julian Cope is an interesting fella, known as the ‘archdrude’ has given lectures to the British Museum on Neolithic monuments, here he is on Totp note the great Thighpaulsandra on keyboards, currently touring as Hawkwinds keyboards player.

Mine is King of Coffeebeans in German.
I didnt like my previous online name cause i made it in a hurry but it stayed around for years, but one day in school we talked about evolution in religion of all subjects and our teacher introduced some different schools of thought, including the guy who said giraffes have long necks cause they stretch so much. I quite frankly thought that was stupid, exercising does not change your gen pool and it didnt cross my mind that you can explain wrong idears for the sake of learning the process how something was discoverd.
But in the moment i was having non of that, argued back with genetics and all and when my teacher said that yeah it is outdated but before we knew about genetics it was plausible i again argued back that aslong as you cant prove something you cant claim it as correct when it goes against the scientific knowledge of your time, as i also cant claim that i got coffee in my veigns and am there for the king of coffeebeans.
And that name stuck and i still like it alot, especally due to the ironic part that i do not like coffee very much.
