"Realistic" and "modern" is my vibe too! With the exception of the roof set in that pack I found a lot of the pieces to be useful for that style but that's so subjective and honestly, my take might be weighted simply by how much I loved that new brick wall set and how useful a few of those temple pieces are!Yeah I think these last two packs will be good ones. If we do in fact get a North American style piece set with a temperate pack then I will be over the moon. I love building realisticly and modern, I wasnt too big of a fan of the pieces in the tropical pack for that reason but thats my own personal preference.
I agree that no big game changers will come now (unless they are saving up for free flying birds but thats a lost cause lets be honest) however I still think we can get a lot of exciting animals in the future. Even if frontier were to just do clone animals they could still push out like at least 5 more packs, you know how many ungulates, monitors, canines, pinnipeds frontier can make without changing a thing to the exsisting models? Theres still so much more they could add to this game, and I really dont want a PZ2, by the time we get 16 DLCs Ive spent over $200 on this game, I dont wanna just scrap it all and start again.
A more "general" new world/North American building set would be such a welcome addition to the game! It's been a while since we got anything in that realm so I do think we're do! Closest, I think, would be the Conservation Pack maybe? And that was over a year ago.
I'm just not willing to say "eh, Frontier's gonna go on cruise control" from here on out because the last pack had some "filler" species. The Arid pack still gave us two highly requested critters and two animals that are zoo essentials. I think it was a bit of a misfire in terms of how much (and what type of) chatter it would create, TBH, but there was definitely a plan with thought and effort behind it! They weren't "coasting" or anything. The quality was still really solid.
And the free update last time was... Not the best. But it did offer new things for content creators (that have been used quite a bit, by folks frankly!) and it's not like it's the first time the community didn't clamor for all the free update content (remember height maps?)... They can't win every time and it's not fair to expect them to either.
Anyway, this is all to say that I agree. I think this game has so much more life in it than a lot of folks are giving it (and Frontier) credit for. Maybe it's me being optmistic or whatever but I think we'll be seeing some additions to the game that let folks really unleash their creativity (both via DLC and free update) before it ends. The more they can "future proof" the game and hand the reins over to the community before they stop development the longer the game will last.
