Update 1.17 & Latin America Pack arriving April 2nd!

Winter is wrapping up and it’s getting a bit hot around here ! We’re heading into one of the most tropical places in the world, Latin America! Travel through the vibrant villages of Brazil as well as meeting some lovely faces!

5 new animals
Meet 5 tropical friends all from the kingdom that is Latin America!

Black Howler Monkey

A unique species amongst the tropical forest, Black Howler Monkeys are one of the very few primates that have altering skin colours, depending on their genders.

Ocelot

While often referred to as a mini Jaguar, the Ocelots main difference from the Jaguar is its size and weight, as well as the difference in patterns.

Collared Peccary

Despite how close they look, peccaries aren’t actually real swines. The animals name comes from the white “collar” around its neck!

White Nosed Coati

The master of the trees, coatis use every part of the forest to their best abilities. They sleep the nights away in the trees, and spend the day grooming and foraging for food.

Eyelash Viper (E)

A very dangerous species, the Eyelash Viper is a species to approach with caution, however they aren’t that aggressive, they rather use their abilities to catch their prey.

Along with these new animals you will also be glad to hear that a variety of architecture pieces from the colourful enchanted Brazil will be included! This new set includes new tropical palms, new flags and fabric pieces, and new flexi colour shingle roof pieces!

Sometimes frontier chooses different species of the requested animal (brown throated sloth for example) so I figured why not.

In theory yeah they could be in the exhibit. I've seen plenty of piranha tanks the size of the exhibit box.

Both coatis are almost identical in appearance, it’s just the colours that are different. It’s recognizable either way.

Yeah. That could have been officially thought of earlier. Fish was the last of five type of vertebrates to be in that game.

yk I could see fish in exhibits. Especially if they add scaling. Maybe we could get a few like phirranas, arapaimas, and an octopus? Ik its not a fish but it could work.

Update 1.17 Arriving on the 2nd of April! (Prediction)

Heyo Zookeepers!

To go along with the Latin America Pack that we announced yesterday, a variety of new features will also be coming to you in Update 1.17!

Elevators

Our biggest feature this update are elevators! You will be able to make your structures more complex by using elevators to get guests across every part of your buildings!

These will work in a similar manor to the restaurants. You will place two different guest points directly on top of each other, once your guests enter, they will spawn at the other connected point.

Animal Territory Behaviours
Your animals will also be getting a pretty big upgrade in terms of behaviors. Some of your animals will now be more territorial and want to protect their parts of the enclosure as their own or protect their food.

Two of the biggest additions to this are striped skunks being able to spray parts of their enclosure to warn off other skunks, or capuchin monkeys stealing others food and taking off into the trees with it!

Red River Hog Variants

Recently we’ve been adding more patterns and variations to animals to make them more unique, and we’re not stopping here! This time we’re adding a few more variants to the Red River Hog!

I think I’ve found a good formula. One highly requested feature, one unexpected but pretty big feature, and one small feature (skin updates).
