Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

I would be beyond shocked if we didn't get some type of ungulate for a Highlands/Mountain pack.

The same level of shock when we didn't even get a South American habitat animal with the Tropical pack, or the Secretarybird or Baboon with the Arid pack.
I can deal with the tropical pack and arid pack but some of the most iconic mountains animals are goats, the pack won’t feel right without at least one caprine. And if they put an antelope instead of a caprine like an elk I can’t comprehend how sad I will be (sad Markhor noises)

I mean that markhor is cool but yeah I just dont like most ungulates I find them boring to build for.
I find the ungulates that do absolutely nothing boring to build for, specifically plains ones. Nyala, Gazelles, Addax, Bongo, Zebra, Buffalo (not including wild water Buffalo). Just the ones that need a flat grasslands.

The ones that are fun to build for for me are the Nile Lechwe and WWB cause I get to build marshlands and get to play around with water (which idk why I find fun, it’s a nightmare), tropical rainforests for the Okapi, and any rock climbing ungulates like sheep, Ibex, and the Markhor if we get it cause I get to use as many rocks as I want, when is that not enjoyable lol.

I think an exhibit would be more fitting for the naked mole rats. It could be designed to show some of their underground tunnel systems. I don't think they even leave the underground often enough to present themselves to the zoo visitors?
Definitely! I can see the "enrichment" items being expanded tunnels, additional "nests," and such.

And man, it would be so much fun to see what people do to build facades for that particular exhibit and imply an extensive connected tunnel system using different exhibit boxes. They are begging to be exhibit animals.

When people say they prefer to build for ungulates over other species it always confuses me... But the mountain ones (and some of the smaller, jungle-focused ones) are the exception for me.

I would be stunned if we got a highlands/mountain pack without the takin and a caprine. But I'd also be bummed if we got like, a rocky mountain goat over markhor.

Would you guys like the idea of having as anniversary animal gift, 2 or 3 exhibit animals? 2 of them being the King cobra with a new temperate asian forest theme, and the naked mole rat with some cool and unique new tunnels exhibit. And if we're a bit lucky, something like a Panther Chameleon. Doesn't sound cool?

Absolutely! If they're going to give exhibit animals for anniversary animals, I'd hope we'd get 2 instead of 1. Of course, it'd be free so I couldn't really gripe too much. Just comparing the last two years versus getting 1 exhibit animal.

Whilst the markhor is cool, I’d actually much rather have a Rocky Mountain goat or chamois. They’re much cleaner and cuter looking and fill the mountain goat niche just as well

Sure, the markhor is cuter. But the markhor looks wiser. I'll take either, TBH.

But the mountain goat, to me, just ain't it. They look like a sculpted pile of instant mashed potatoes with horns.

(Not really; I just don't dig their aesthetic compared to the other two and it felt like a funny thing to say.)
I don't know if I can be excited for 2 or 3 .gif files.
Ouch. But... True.

Kinda makes me surprised nobody's bothered trying to find videos of mole rats and just doing an implied habitat via billbboards. Hah.

The Rocky Mountain goat just looks like a really fluffy Dall sheep with slightly different horns. prove me wrong.

Now if we get the Chamois I won’t be upset, it’s pretty cute and still can fill my need for caprines, but it doesn’t scratch the same itch a Markhor does.

The Markhor is just so wise, it looks like the grandpa figure of the animal kingdom.

By the way opinions if we only got the takin in a mountains pack? Unlikely but worth asking.

I'd be very happy with takin. I'm not expecting more than one caprine anyway though I'd love to be proven wrong. My ideal duo would be Aoudad and Takin, one hot and one cold!
