Winter 2023 DLC Speculation

I mean technically none of those ungulates are caprines so

I really want...
Oh, let me think...
its a big caprine!
it's so cool!
and iconic.
Its the...
uhhh,
Musk Ox!! :)
I watched a short video documentary of a newborn girl who was so playful and curious.
Then, I found out (also on youtube) that they are native to Siberia!
For some reason, I thought they were exclusive to the New World...
So, yes I want them even more now.
and to add they can have white markings on their backs, faces and legs!

why did i read that first part to "tell me what you want what you really really want"

How would people feel about gundis as an exhibit animal? They are native to rocky cliffs in African areas so could work in a mountains/highland pack. They are rodents that are similar in niche to hyrax but a lot smaller. They live in colonies and like to huddle up together.

Their exhibits in real life tend to be as big as the terrariums in game:

I was always in favor of getting small mammals for the exhibits. Its a whole category of animals that hasnt been explored at all.
I think pikas could also work

Feelings? Hell no.
Exhibits are the only way to get something thats not mammal usually.

Gundis really arnt that small and small size in general is kind of not a big deal when baby meerkats and prariedogs are running around, both should not be larger then a gundi
Yeah true, but those baby meerkat sized gundis would also have even smaller babies of their own.
I dont think the size itself is the problem its more everything around then. I feel like basicly all items from habitat gates to enrichment really arent suited for this small creatures.
Not to familiar with gundis and their size tbh, but i was more talking about exhibit mammals as a whole

So far this year we have gotten the following for habitat animals:

2 carnivorans
6 ungulates
1 primate
3 "other" mammals
2 birds
1 reptile

Which of these groups do you think will get reps next pack?
Ungulates and carnivores for sure. Probably an obsucre mammal, maybe a bird. Probably no primate since we already got one this year 😂 😥

Makes me think if these wishlists were done via an online form where you submit animals but cannot see the wishlist until completed, the order of animals would be vastly different as I find it hard to believe that hundreds of people think the Wolverine, coati and secretary bird are the most needed animals.
I feel we need to like make a proper website that people enter a list and it tallies them properly and in real time also I cant speak for coati but the wolverine and secretary bird its 100% zoo tycoons fault they are that high in the list
I wouldn't mind that actually, it would give the metawishlists a much more trustworthy stance regarding 'what the community wants'.Then the same rules apply surely as the current way, it would simply stop people seeing oh super niche animal I remember from zoo tycoon, lets vote for that instead of personal favourite animals whether its another regionally unique animal or another tiger.
I actually like the current rule set because if the list were to include flying birds and fully aquatic animals it would be way to impractical to actually use as these would undoubtedly be at the top but without a full game rework they have no way of making it in inflating all the top spots with animals which never have a chance to make it in
Who honestly likes building for antelopes more than goats or caprines?
I hate all ungulates equally
Even Naked mole rats could be a habitat animal then🤔
yes Exhibit boxes are the bane of my existence nothing deserves the circle of hell that is those boxes the only animals it makes sense to put them in there is
  • sloths because they are too sloth and almost purely arboreal so to work as a habitat animal they would either need to be way too fast or have ridiculously slow need decay
  • anything flying unfortunately the only way we seem to be able to get flying is through looped animations.
  • insects, tree frogs or anything less than like 10cm in height because currently the smallest habitat we can make is 100m2 and the habitat doors are massive.
  • snakes would be nightmare to create rigs and movements for especially climbing ones.

exhibit boxes should only be used if there is no viable way of introducing the animal otherwise also the iguanas need freedom.
